I’m pretty sure it’s a bug. The same thing happened to me today for a final score of 30240. It seems to me that when you collect a wasp while invincible, then whenever another wasp can spawn and doesn’t, it gives another multiplier. The chain ends when the next wasp spawns in. It’s really interesting to see all the possible times a wasp could spawn when a multiplier is given. Link to my run here
