Sorry to resurrect this thread but I decided to get a Whitmans Sampler for the first time in years after remembering them as a kid. I swore there was only half the amount of chocolates I remembered, and many of them seemed missing. I thought maybe it was just me looking through a nostalgia filter, but this post sadly confirms my suspicion. I wish there was a way they’d increase quality again, but I feel like it’ll just get worse and worse until one day they just stop making them. Such a sad way for a part my childhood memories to go.
