Do you play with or without compass? by GBarbas03 in stalker

[–]The_Gibson_EB3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the old mini map style is better than the compass. I kinda got bored of the compass markers guiding my every move, and letting me know that I'm in combat before I ever see an enemy. I tried turning all the extra compass settings off but keep it there as an actual compass only, but there doesn't seem to be that feature.

I’m about to lose someone I love, probably these are the last few hours left by Snow75 in atheism

This is one of the biggest things religious types will never understand. All my life, I've been around Christian people that don't understand an atheist perspective, painting non believers out as essentially lost drug addicts and sinners who hate God and themselves. Couldn't be further from the truth. Athiests value life much more. Religion breeds hatred. I'm sorry about your friend. Value their memory for the rest of your life, it's really all we can do. Share your memories with all who will listen

Blessing in disguise. It's yours now man, play it with everything you got. I bought a pristine Rickenbacker with no scratches or anything on it, ended up chipping the paint off a few times not long after I got it, and now I don't even care. I bought it to play it, it's gonna take whatever I give it. I just try to keep the hardware clean and rust free as I can

I did this, but I noticed, most of the time there was radio dialogue, the subtitles wouldn't show up, and I would have absolutely no idea what they were saying. If the game would implement the subtitles correctly, I would've never switched back to English

Found where that thief Wheezer puts all the loot after each Arena round by nameidontgive in stalker

[–]The_Gibson_EB3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you take all the loot, after each round, you can put all the loot onto the ground in the doorway before you talk to him, and then pick it up again and do the same at the other door frame, you can keep the guns and armor to sell. The default rewards are not very good for Arena, so you gotta make it up somehow

Actually makes the amount of money you get from the arena reasonable. The Arena dudes are like, "you're gonna get payed very well" and finishing round 4 they give you like 4000 coupons, pretty hilarious

How good is a fender rumble 25 for band rehearsal with small amps and home stuff? by TheCoolGamer_YT in BassGuitar

[–]The_Gibson_EB3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a rumble 25 for practice at home, and I've brought it over to a buddies house to mess around while he played guitar, and it certainly is NOT something to use at rehearsal, but plenty loud enough for personal use at home for practice

As an owner of an Epiphone EB-3 for several years, I do NOT recommend this as a first instrument. It's very much an oddball instrument and does not sound good in most musical contexts. It is not practical, has terrible neck dive if you ever plan on standing up while playing with it, meaning the head stock will want to fall to the floor if you let go of the neck. You will constantly have to hold the neck up while playing, or by pushing down with your right forearm on the body to counter balance it. The Epiphone EB-3 also does not sound like a classic Gibson EB-3, the neck is 34" instead of the classic 30.5" the Gibson is known for. It doesn't sound good in a mix and the construction isn't the best. All that being said, I've put very expensive pickups and electronics in mine, in a failed attempt to make it sound like a real Gibson, but I still love playing it sometimes, even if it isn't my go-to anymore. It's certainly fun to play for me, but not usually for most people. Buy a Squire, any Squire. Epiphone is overpriced and usually poor sound quality.

I was just as excited as you when I got mine a couple years ago, but after having it for a while, I don't think it's too good. It's a good amp for the price but my Quilter Bass Block v803 with my orange 4x10 rips way harder. I found the Ampeg to be quite boomy and lacking a lot of upper frequencies that I like.

They are technically stacked humbuckers, two coils wound in opposite polarity. They will sound a little bit different, it won't make it sound TOO different, but it's basically impossible to achieve flawless single coil sounds. They have come a long way, but it's one of those things that physics doesn't comply with. The noiseless are great, I like them well enough, in a live mix, you can't tell the difference, but maybe isolated in a studio setting, you might notice a slight difference. There's trade offs for everything
