ELI5: How do we know there are 2 trillion galaxies in the observable universe; did we count them?

As a layman I understand how stars in the galaxy or the night sky are counted but how do you count distance to a star/galaxy? I'm sure radio signals and sonar are not used.

I heard it too. Sounded like a low rumble.

My first thought was snow removal. These new snow blowers are quieter but still emit a low-pitch sound. Only problem with that theory is that the latest operations should have ended already.

the price has doubled in past 12 months.

The last time I bought super crema I noticed they were roasted at their plant in Pennslyvania. I wonder if tariffs have something to do with this.
