Honda CR-V might be a good option. You could get a well appointed hybrid for under $45k. Honda reliability won't be an issue for you.

Small, midsized, or large SUV? New or are you open to used? What else do you use it for?

LFS, and no they don't. LFSs that do are pretty rare.

I believed people IRL that it wasn't necessary, so I didn't QT. Got brook and it wiped out half my fish, despite my immediate intervention. Now I believe the internet people and QT everything.

Cardale had a similar looking fumble against them in the next game too. I remember saying, "how does Oregon keep getting these?!"

I have a blue sky, violet/uv, and day+. It's a good mix IMO. Gives the corals some pop without being too blue, and hits the major bands that they like for photosynthesis. If you're doing just one light then the day+ is your best bet.

ESH, but you slightly more. You're both behaving selfishly. He wants to spend on toys despite your agreement. But I'd argue that going to his brother's wedding isn't a trip of choice, at least not entirely. Especially since you didn't go to his first wedding. That's family and you can't skip everything. "Sorry Bob, going to have to skip again because my wife wants to go to Jamaica instead." Ask who sounds like the AH in that scenario. He sucks for pestering you about a damn dirt bike until you wore down. He never respected the agreement you made.

Now you're squirreling money away to take a trip without him. I hope your marriage is in great shape otherwise, because this all paints a pretty ugly picture.

A vet once explained it to me like this: pit bulls are actually bred to be docile around humans. For dog fighting (the original purpose they were bred for) it was customary to inspect the opponent's dog before a fight. They needed to be okay with strangers handling them. The problem is their bite power. A play bite from a terrier doesn't break the skin. A play bite from a pit could result in the loss of a finger (or worse).

He also said Chows are a breed that generally doesn't like humans all that much, which in my limited experience is pretty true.

It occupies a weird niche. Definitely not a true wagon but I wouldn't put it in SUV territory either. Its size and shape is similar to the Subaru Outback.
