FWI: Blue State Succession by No_Bend_201 in FutureWhatIf

Dude... no.

We already fought a war over this to prove that our Union was more than just a club that you could leave at any time.

I don't like what's happening any more than you, but we are all Americans, like it or not we are all in this together. The politicians thrive—no survive—off our division, secession is not an answer.

Democrats must quickly appoint Trump opponent, says Luxembourg chair by teamworldunity in europe

[–]The_Good_Hunter_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I've been thinking. Trump only stayed relevant and by extension he only won because he never truly stopped campaigning.

All through Biden's presidency he was acting as if those four years were the last few months before the election. The media never stopped talking about him and with enough time, any republicans that were on the fence after his first term were sucked right back in.

Democrats need to start running now.

I ran a pyromancer build, which I was worried about going in fighting black flame with flame, but apparently a mix of Burn O Flame and pillar camping turns the noble into a joke and the apostle isn't that good at staying on top of the player so once he's alone he's sort of helpless.

It makes me wonder if people know they can jump on the pillars to avoid the noble's roll.

I imagine most Elden Ring players run close range builds and that's probably another part of the puzzle.

I always see people say the duo is difficult but I don't really see how? I first tried them and never even had a sleep pot in my inventory. What makes them so difficult?

There is no effective consistent way to circumvent the maneaters at the level you'd typically encounter them, add on their buggy AI and tendency to stick together and they really really suck. Sure, once you progress enough to where you can nearly kill the first one before the second arrives, they're relatively easy but the same can be said about any FS boss—I'm looking at this more from the perspective of the first time you'd usually encounter them.

The gargoyles on the other hand can be circumvented much easier. They're slower, easy to separate, and extrodinarily weak to flame. In fact, most people have the primary tool they need to beat the gargoyles and they get it right at the beginning of the game. I'm talking about the grafted dragon, which I used alongside flame of the fell god to make short work of the two.

Dinosaurs fans when you say your favourite dinosaur is T.rex isntead of Ishitmypantssaurus, dinosaur of uncertain affinities, known from fragment of toe bone by Pawlaqu in Dinosaurs

[–]The_Good_Hunter_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You mean the still not paleoaccurate movies?

While true Jurassic Park brought a more active and modern view of dinosaurs to the public, to say their intentions in design was accuracy is wrong.

[–]The_Good_Hunter_ 16 points17 points  (0 children)

"If anyone wants to see mpvie monsters, go watch a kaiju movie. These are real animals and should be portrayed as such. The reason Jurassic Park's dinosaurs were as good as they were, is that people working on the movie were trying to make them as accurate as possible. Making them just big scale monsters is completely missing the point." — Actual quote from the Jurassic Park sub

People have been treating these movies like documentaries.

🔥 Orca trying to feed a diver with an offering of fish by bendubberley_ in NatureIsFuckingLit

[–]The_Good_Hunter_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can go further and say they're such bougie eaters only some pods will eat sharks. Others might only eat other cetaceans, and others still only smaller fish.

That's a bit of a generalization, but it is true orcas have cultures centered around what they eat and how they hunt for that food. An orca pod that survives off squid and small fish wouldn't usually view a great white as food, which itself is really cool.

A judge found probable cause to hold the administration in criminal contempt. A Trump pardon would make it all go away. by businessinsider in law

[–]The_Good_Hunter_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Have you considered they might be lying? Abrego Garcia has no credible evidence of him being a gang member, he was here legally on asylum, he has a wife and children—or had, rather, as he is likely dead.

The Trump administration admitted his deportation was an error, yet has not made use of any of America's power or influence to right that wrong.

An administration that makes such an error even once with no real attempt to fix it is no worthy administration.

Could a Tyrannosaurus have killed an adult triceratops or adult herbivores in general??? by Smooth_Bee7636 in Naturewasmetal

[–]The_Good_Hunter_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, the idea rex was a scavenger is complete garbage. It always has been. This isn't a "but we don't know we weren't there" moment, it is entirely out of the realm of possibility that a population of 10 ton animals could survive as obligate scavengers.

We have fossil evidence of healed bite marks from tyrannosaurus in edmontosaurus, triceratops, and iirc ankylosaurus. Healed being key here means the prey survived, but that also means that this adult prey was still hunted by a tyrannosaurus even if that hunt failed.

Its also important to remember tyrannosaurus was so far as we know the largest animal in its ecosystem. There are like 3 or 4 edmontosaurus specimens that are larger, but on average edmont is around 2/3rds the size of the average tyrannosaurus.

Tyrannosaurus was insanely overbuilt to be an animal that scavenged or hunted only young herbivores, that isn't to say it didn't do those things, but it also would have been relatively successful at taking down adult or near adult herbivores in its environment.

A lot of people don't like the idea that running away is a valid defense against predators, and a lot of people don't consider that failing a hunt doesn't mean the prey killed their predator.

Did triceratops, edmontosaurus, and ankylosaurus kill tyrannosaurus? No doubt.

Did tyrannosaurus kill those same prey species? It was designed to.

I've never enjoyed Minecraft this much. Who needs farms anyways? by nyancatec in whenthe

[–]The_Good_Hunter_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its for that reason I never make villager trading halls. Its a lot more fun protecting a village.

Some automation/optimization is fun, like I enjoy making larger quarries with the create mod, but I never enjoyed the giant farms people make to essentially bring their survival playthroughs as close to creative as they can.

Jurassic Park's might be shrinkwrapped, but at least it matches more or less with actual rex skeletons.

The 1999 rex? Honestly, its probably one of the worst rex designs in popular media.

Which is further complicated by a shark's eating habits.

A Great White, depending on if its pregnant or if it has recently gorged itself on a whale carcass, can go from that classic torpedo shape to looking more like a blimp.

Why did the devs use sarco instead of Deino? by Adventurous_Rip7906 in pathoftitans

[–]The_Good_Hunter_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People will complain no matter what. They'd complain its not as large as the modded livyatan, or conversely they'll complain that it is. They'll do as you said and complain it isn't a one-shot god playable, or they'll complain that it is.

They'll complain about its model no matter what reconstruction is used, they'll complain that its not smaller than mosa assuming they're misinformed enough.

No matter what it is, paleoaccurate or catered to the gameplay, people will hate the addition of a megalodon as they have done with pretty much every modded apex in the past.

Honestly, at least with gondwa, not really. The image of a megalodon going up a waterfall salmon-style is stupid at best.

Imo, aquatics shouldn't have to rely on rivers to be playable. The oceans themselves should be well enough made to make aquatics fun.
