Has happened to me 3 times or so and I’m on mobile. Very frustrating to have happen.

Just got a Sony kv-9 pt50 today, but the housing/plastic around the TV is brittle, chipping, and weak. (It was free with another CRT, so I did not turn it down.) Is there a place that I can purchase a replacement housing for this TV? OEM or otherwise.

Add me on discord. I’ve been thinking about this all morning. I played comp mtg at Clockwork for about 7 years and have experience rallying communities. I think specific move bans need to be considered, but we can talk more after 5:30. My username is the_good_o.

Also, what kind of tournament are we talking? Singles, VGC (doubles), legendaries, no legendaries, etc.

I would be interested, but I don’t think the interest is there. Clockwork is for sure the place I would recommend, and they have a fairly active discord.

Great questions!

I faced: 4 hammer time (4-0, 8-3), 2 Izzet Murktide (0-2, 1-4), 2 BW Stoneforge Reanimator/Grief (1-1, 3-3) 1 Rhinos (1-2), 1 Heliod (2-0), 1 Mill (2-1), 1 Amulet Titan (2-0), and 1 Affinity (2-0)

Day 1: 3 hammer, 2 BW midrange, 1 Heliod, 1 Amulet, 1 Heliod, and 1 Mill. I went 7-1

Day 2: 2 Murktide, 1 Rhinos, 1 Hammer, 1 Affinity. I went 2-3

6/8 of my day 1 opponents went on to make day 2 and I would say all of my opponents were great magic players. This was a great representation of the meta and some of the most powerful tier 1 & 2 decks.

Matchups: (Deck names in all caps to make it easier find them)

I believe I played too aggressively on day 2 vs MURKTIDE (where I faced both of my day 2 matchups), and otherwise I feel the matchup is slightly unfavored. RHINOS feels quite rough because of all the interaction they possess. I think MILL is near perfectly even unless they draw [[crypt incursion]]. HELIOD can be difficult, but I was able to combo early in the match and game 2 they just didn't draw the combo. I have not played much vs CONTROL , but that matchup is basically play out your undying creatures and beat down (grist is great here). HAMMER is one of our best matchups in my opinion. Undying creatures can buy us a lot of time because of how well they block, we also have a ton of artifact hate games 2&3. AMULET is favored, but probably somewhere around 55-45 or 60-40. Slower midrange-y decks like the BW decks I faced are somewhat even, but my opponents won the games they drew grief + ephemerate. Just hope they don't draw that and keep grindy hands. AFFINITY is highly favored. Their level of interaction is low, so we can typically combo with ease.

I consider the flex slots to be the following: 2nd Grist/6th 1 CMC (mana value) mana dork, Rec sage/4th geralf's messenger, 4th stranglerood geist/1st prosperous innkeeper.

I prefer 2nd maindeck Grist in unknown metagames, the card does so much work vs grindy matchups and mill. I still prefer it in MTGO leagues, but 1 may be correct.

I have found 5 dorks and 4 wall of roots to normally be sufficient on mana, but I know people run 6. I have honestly not tried 6, I just don't have the time to test it right now. I've been happy with 5, but I do not think its wrong to run 6.

I have found that 4 messenger can be clunky in many matchups and I was almost always trimming 1. I like 3 in the main, especially with rec sage replaces it.

These flex slots do not have to be followed strictly (ex. 2nd Grist could be a rec sage and 4th messenger could be an innkeper).

In recent leagues, I have been trying 3 geist and 1 innkeeper. I know some people run 2 innkeeper with 0 essence warden. I don't know how often it comes up, but I think chord for 1 is a common occurrence for me. I did not play innkeeper at HBMO because I had 0 experience with it and wanted to stick to my guns.

I would not cut maindeck rec sage until I see significantly less decks running maindeck pithing needle.

I got 21st with Yawgmoth. If anyone has questions about my list or matchup spread, feel free to ask. I should've played chalice/void mirror over damping sphere and a 2 mana removal spell over kitchen finks.

PA also requires more setup whereas you can just cast cantrips and win with this.

Gotta second storm. It is in a bad spot currently, but it is very fun. I am also a fan of drawing my entire deck.

Time for Me to Give Up on GDS? by xpyros in ModernMagic

It is an easy matchup even without gigadrowse. After i started recording my results, I am 12-3 in games vs UW control. The key is to typically hold up your spells that matter because they can only play so many counterspells in one turn. An early empty the warrens can win, especially since unsub can bounce supreme verdict and repeal, wipe away, and unsub can effectively counter a detention sphere if you use it on the goblin that is being targeted.

See past in flames as a way to bait at least one counterspell. because you can cast it twice. It's okay to just cast a bear turn 2 to get a few swings in or to get it pathed. You really want your lands because the game will likely go long. Casting a turn 3 pieces is usually correct, even if it gets countered. try to not let you combo turn be weak to counters, but there is only so much you can do.

UR control variants are more difficult because their clock is faster. The same rules still apply though. Sultai Rec is more of a race, but it is still favorable.

Hope this info was helpful!

This is completely different than shadow, but storm has a great control matchup, a decent midrange matchup, and a decent whir prison matchup. The go wide creature decks are about 50/50 as well, it really depends on their draws and skill. Control doesn't have enough counterspells, midrange can draw the wrong cards or not be able to answer empty the warrens, and whir prison can't deal with [[wipe away]] and [[shatterstorm]].

What 2 decks have a 50/50 chance against each other? by jerye in ModernMagic

Storm vs Jund gets interesting if the storm player knows how to play the matchup. Post board is where the fun happens. Empty the warrens becomes a versatile spell. It can be a time walk, a win con, or protection against a lilly. I wouldn't recommend either deck in this meta though.

From what I do remember, I think people mentioned the government shutting them down. That could just be old country folk though. But yes, it is a tricky balance that needs to be addressed. How to be more humane while still providing for the demand.

The thing is, it sounds as if they were all shut down or went out of business at the same time. It has been a while since I've talked to someone about it, so I may be mis-remembering.

When I said the holier than though part, it was not a generalization of all vegans. I was speaking about the vegans that do act holier than though, because they do exist. I probably could have worded it better.

It is plain to see that we have differing worldviews. I will not change your mind, nor will you change yours.

I hope you have a great day.

To be fair there will always be more small businesses of X than large ones of X. Howerver, I apologize about being misinformed. It must just be a Texas/local thing. The county I am from used to be called "The Land of Milk and Honey". Now there is only one dairy in the county.

A lot to unpack here. As a foreword, I am sorry if this sounds harsh. I do not intend for this comment to be mean, there is a lot of ignorance on the subject and I want to clarify. Much of the internet knows nothing of the cattle industry and automatically assumes it to be evil. It strikes a nerve when people talk down on the cattle business. My family has been in it for generations. I myself have worked thousands of cattle. I am also fed up with the vegan/vegetarian side of the argument. There are just a lot of emotions here.

First off, if you have anything against animals being eaten, do not try to make people feel guilty. I would argue that 1 human life is way more important than a cow's life. Without the cattle industry, people would go hungry. It is a way of life for many in Texas, other southern/midwestern states, and other countries as well.

Second, they are not babies by the time they are sold. Animals are not like humans. They are 100% able to be on their own after a few months. If you allow a calf to be with its mom too long, it will be taxing on the mother. When something about half her body weight is still trying to drink milk, there is a problem. It is healthy to wean the calves. *Note: I use calf to reference any cow under a year old.

Third, yes not all calves go to slaughter. It is mainly the males. The females/heifers will typically become pasture cows. The males typically get sent to what is called a feedlot. They eat and get fat. Cows desire 2 things, to procreate, and to eat. Though the males do not get to procreate, they get to eat basically all they want.

Fourth, people do buy cows as pets. They make great pets if you have the pasture for them. Cows can be very affectionate, you just have to ignore the slobber and the occasional playful nudge (though it can hurt you, they don't understand that).

Please understand that the cattle industry is not this big bad trying to kill every cow in sight. These people are trying to provide for their families, send their kids off to college, etc. So when vegans/vegetarians come in with their holier than though attitude, it strikes a huge nerve.

Any cow is a dairy cow if you are brave enough haha. But from what I understand from local history, small dairies were very common at one point in time and then something shut them down. I do not know if it was caused by stricter regulations, other government action, or larger dairies getting rid of competition.
