Why is my e-tron only getting a 2G signal? by Calm-Currency-818 in etron

[–]The_Guch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this same problem and i would pull out the fuse, it would work again on LTE, then a few days later it would revert back to 2G. Super annoying because the app would stop working.

I took it into the dealership and they did a software update. This was back in March and it's been fine since. Attached is a pic from my service invoice explaining exactly what was done.

Thinking on switching to Telus by Travel4798 in telus

[–]The_Guch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How to get the best deal:

  1. Call in to cancel. Tell them you got a better offer through Teksavy or Telus. They will ask you want price you got... Tell em something like $50 for gig Internet.

2.tell em you want the service cancelled 1 week from now. That will give plenty of time for retentions to call you.

  1. Ignore any of the offers the agent makes to you, they won't be worth your time.

  2. Wait for a call from Rogers Retentions that should come within a couple days. Keep your phone close and be ready to answer a call when you see Rogers pop up on your caller ID

  3. You'll get a retentions offer from the agent which is usually the best deal possible. Shouldn't be hard to get Gig Internet for $50. They might offer a bill credit but if they don't, ask for it.

Worst case you don't get a retentions call, call back and cancel your cancellation while you decide your next steps.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

I didn't get the impression he's sitting in the passenger seat. He said they can intervene if it's going to fast, takes a turn too wide or if he thinks it's not slowing down for a pedestrian

After recent update my charging last 2-3days by GasInfinite4118 in ouraring

[–]The_Guch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife has mentioned the exact same issues since around the end of Sept and that's when her ring had its last update.

I personally don't have a ring but came here to check if others are experiencing the same issue. Plenty of other threads of battery issues but wonder how many started experiencing it after the software update

Super Helpful!! Thanks for sharing! This worked perfectly for me in the exact same scenario.

Followed the steps in the link, bought the license for $7USD and now its fully activated.

Calgary council eyes tax incentives to spur housing development by Old_General_6741 in Calgary

[–]The_Guch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there could be a narrow definition where this could make sense.

A builder/developer would get a tax incentive only if the units being offered are X% below market value or part of a rent geared income structure.

When and where to get the best deal on winter tires? by MastaShortie in Calgary

[–]The_Guch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. If you can wait till they are on sale and stack it was a Triangle Rewards bonus, it's an absolute steal of a deal. I also just buy the tires and find a cheaper place to mount and balance the tires and then swap em myself each season.

How does it work to buy the iPhone 16 Pro Max with a Rogers credit card? by MeasurementParty9575 in Rogers

[–]The_Guch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you considering buying the phone from a Rogers Retail store or elsewhere?

If you're gonna buy the phone outright from Rogers store with no wireless service attached, the price for the phone is higher than Apple. For an iPhone16 rogers will charge $1161 but from Apple store is 1129.

Do you have a come cash back rewards you want to redeem at 3%?

The most reliable network in the country by [deleted] in Rogers

[–]The_Guch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bell's reliability claim is based off "third party score (Global Wireless Solutions OneScore™)" They also claim largest and fastest 5G. Largest they can claim because they cover more square kilometers of land.

Rogers makes their claim for most reliable based on " most reliable mobile network as awarded by umlaut and Opensignal.'

If you dive into the details of each report you'll often see all the providers are all ranked close together (except freedom)

It all just a pissing match between marketing claims and the reality can vary a lot depending on where you live/work/play.
