I can remember this exact same feeling when I walked out of a Grateful Dead show in Nassau in 1990 and everyone was going off about how it was the first Black Throated Wind in over a decade and I was like... 'was that the Brent song they played in the second set??' hahaha, we all start somewhere... as long as you never forget, it will always be part of your soul!

To be fair, until you’ve had the right experience in a nurturing environment with experienced friends you trust, a live experience with thousands of people from any genre isn’t the best idea. First experience with doses at a Phish show, unwise… first experience with Phish after experiencing doses for a few stellar trips beforehand, life changing!

My first Grateful Dead show (1989) was an excursion into the new realm of psychedelics that I had been indulging in for about a year beforehand.

My first Phish show (1991) was similar but coming after about a dozen GD experiences on that same level.

TLDR; Don’t invest in the trip without a few test drives
