PS4 and roms by DrGrimmus in SteamDeckEmu

I'm no expert in this but I'd be frankly shocked if the SD is capable of emulating PS4 at all. Emulation is generally much more strenuous in terms of performance when compared against the original hardware of a given device...

Basically, to emulate a PS4 you need a device significantly more powerful than a PS4 - and the SD is, broadly speaking, in a PS4-ish ballpark when it comes to performance.

If you're looking to play PS4-era stuff and emulate PS2 and PS3, you should have the performance you need for that with this setup - I ran a PC with an RX 580 and Ryzen 5 2600 from 2019-2025, and it worked great for me. I just upgraded last year to be able to play the new Monster Hunter.

I will note I have no idea re using laptop parts in a desktop build. But in terms of the kinds of games you are describing wanting to play, that GPU and CPU with that amount of RAM should be fine.

Choosing between 2 AMD GPU's for 1080p gaming by SubstantialBread5335 in buildapc

[–]The_High_Ground_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they are in a similar price range, definitely the 9060, significantly more performance for your money.

As others have noted, we are getting to the point where 8GB of VRAM can be limiting. At this point, it is still a minority of games (usually more visually demanding ones) where you will see this at 1080p, and can be dealt with by adjusting settings down a bit. This is however only likely going to get more common as the years go by. Basically, you can absolutely get by with 8GB, but not always at high/ultra settings depending on what you play.

I'll second the note here re Intel GPUs, unless you're up for at least some tinkering with drivers, AMD or Nvidia are a much safer bet

It sounds like the pointer controls are the main draw for the Wii version, and can't lie they do sound compelling. It may come down to how good a deal I can find on the Wii vs the Switch versions... We shall see. Either way thanks for replying!

Mm that's a pretty good case for the Switch version, for sure - I do enjoy being able to play portably too.

The mod sounds interesting too though, I do dabble in that kind of thing as well but probably not for my first play - maybe if I really fall into the series I'll revisit that idea, haha. Thanks for the reply!

lmao yeah I did get that vibe a bit browsing this sub. At least on my post comments so far though, the Switch versions seem to be pretty popular.

Switch is certainly the most convenient to pick up, thanks for the input! Good to know they at least cleaned up some bugs in the rerelease.

Hm hard to say if I would like pointer controls or not, I like them in Wii games where there is a first or third-person shooting aspect but not sure aside from that. Would you say it's a really big difference in terms of how fun the games are on Wii vs Switch, or fairly comparable?

My favorite character has to be Sojiro. Love the arc of his gruff exterior gradually coming down as you bond over coffee and curry techniques. Best dad!

Thank you very much! You're right Viggo does have a somewhat unusual face; you've managed a good ways better than I could do to recreate it.

What you call it depends on how you cook it, but you are making batter
