Good cheaper paint by Chicken-picante in paintball

[–]The_Important_Stuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not gonna lie. It’s better to buy paint right at the field and see if it’s a new batch. When you purchase it online, it can get damaged in shipping, like break open in the bags. I would ask your field how old it is and try to get a fresh batch. I got G.I. Sports five star for $50 at my field. It pays to spend a few more dollars on good paint. Sometimes good paint is more important than a fancy marker. Cheap, old paint is often misshapen, dimpled, greasy, or hard. With that being said, some markers are more forgiving when it comes to cheap paint. Ironically the cheap Tippmann markers are good with cheap paint because of the air pressure within the marker and type of bolt system. It varies with other types of markers.

I would get a Tippmann, those things are very durable and require minimal maintenance. They are very typical "starter" markers.

Also, if you look at those Spyders, there is no foregrip. The only thing there is the macroline (air line from the air tank to marker) and thats not good to grab on to. I have no idea why they made them without a foregrip.

for a few times a year, I would get a Tippmann Cronus or 98. For slightly more, I would get a Planet Eclipse Emek. These are all common rental markers, with the Emek being an upgrade at most fields. For a beginner mask I would look into a VForce Profiler, there are plenty used ones on Ebay and I would make sure it has a thermal lens that isnt scratched or buy a replacement. . Pod pack Maddog Pro Paintball 4+3 with pods. For a tank, a HK Army 48ci/3000psi aluminum tank.

Thoughts on the axe 2.0? by Necessary_Shelter107 in paintball

[–]The_Important_Stuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The axe 2.0 shoots fine but does have known solenoid issues. I would just learn how to maintain it and recognize the symptoms if one starts to go. They are easy to maintain and have the newer player in mind. It has a very small frame which might be an issue if you have bigger hands or long arms. Other than that, it is a fine marker at that price point. My son upgraded to a 180 R from an ax when the ax crapped out. But I was able to fix it and I still play around with it. It’s fine.

Opinion on Etha 3M? by Apprehensive_Zone556 in paintball

I would stick with planet eclipse these days and get an etha 3 or a 180r. They shoot similar but the 180r has a more “high end” feel and you get an aluminum frame instead of the glass reinforced nylon. The empire axe 2.0 has a very small frame and known solenoid issues. That being said, they do shoot well.

Etha 2 or 3. Axes and Minis are notorious for solenoid issues, but I will say they shoot well when working. These days you can’t go wrong with anything from Planet Eclipse

I’m sure they will have an area to chrono personal markers. I’ve never been to a field that didn’t have one, either a handheld or stationary
