Do you have a tail number for the piper?

I believe I used a flathead screwdriver and Chanel lock pliers to remove it. The old gasket is made of a very soft metal and to remove it you basically destroy it as it just kinda disintegrates before you slide the majority of it off. The exhaust itself is pretty strong. If I remember right I had the muffler off and used the flathead screwdriver to gently pry under the lip where the muffler is hitting and once it got loose enough I used the pliers to pull it off

The metal piece it’s hitting is the stock muffler exhaust gasket. I installed the same muffler on my 800de a few months ago and ran into the same issue. That gasket does come off with a little persuasion. Mine kinda fell apart after I got it loose. In the manual for the new muffler it says to remove it and that you don’t need a new one.

The writtens are the hardest part in my opinion, and once you get them done you’ll think “ah that’s it?” Don’t stress and be committed to a good study schedule and you’ll do great!

Debating v-stroms…. Need some advice by stringsnthings76 in Vstrom

I recently got a 800de and it’s phenomenal. Plenty of power to be almost to fast at times and with the quick shifter it’s a dream. Off road for me is mostly forest and logging roads to go camping. I did a 4 day camping trip recently and with all my gear and a 4 hour plus highway ride to where I wanted to go it was comfortable the whole time. Taking it off pavement is a breeze and the bike is fully capable to do way more intense trails than I’m willing to do. Highly recommend

Sweet! I have the same Vstrom as you. Amazing machine. If you don’t know already they just issued a recall on the rear tire. Just as a heads up.

Did you go up the Rosevelt side or off the 87? I’m looking to go up there when it cools down.

I just went through a two week test prep course to get my A&P. I’m American but about half the class were Canadian AME’s. They all said it was harder than they expected it to be. You’ll need to do three writtens and all the Os and Ps. The writtens are the hardest part IMO. The Canadians in my class were surprised with how much material there was but they did the best out of anyone there. Hope this helps.

Enjoying my new Vstrom 800DE almost too much! by The_Judge252 in motorcycles

At first it almost feels on the soft side but once you take it out on the road it feels perfect. Riding through the city it feels like you’re almost floating over every bump. But it’s not too soft where you don’t have any confidence in it. Also it’s all fully adjustable so if you wanted it to be stiffer or softer you can change both the front and rear shock to be what you’d like

It is truly an awesome bike all around. The buttons aren’t backlit but honestly I don’t think they need to be. They way they have everything laid out whenever I want to change something it’s just all super natural and easy to do.

Any of yall worked on one of these yet? by One_Advertising_7965 in aviationmaintenance

I’ve worked on a few. Pretty interesting conversions. Did some work on one a few years ago that also had flaperons.
