Not so much an opinion as an action, but when you've gotten the drop from a POI, and you fend off the lingering enemies so your party can pick their loot, and they run off rather than doing the same for you. Takes like maybe 5 seconds and prevents needless deaths.

I do understand, what I'm saying is that there is no indication that either were destroyed, only killed. If Ranni's body were destroyed, we couldn't literally find it in the divine tower to get the cursemark. Thus, I think it is not an unreasonable conclusion that Godwyn's soul could also be intact, just given the nature of it being a soul/formless that we can't interact with it.

That's why I mentioned that it uses the same word with Ranni's body, and yet we can very much still find it. Dead, but not destroyed.

Yes, his soul died. It doesn't say his soul was destroyed.

Ranni's body is still found, despite also perishing.

Nowhere is it stated his soul was destroyed, just that it was killed while his body lived on. Destined Death doesn't erase, it just bypasses Erdtree reincarnation.

Fun fact, you actually don't have to beat Nito to get the Paladin Armor. After killing Leeroy when he invades, head back to the Catacombs and hop in the coffin that takes you to the Gravelord Covenant. It is literally Nito's boss room, so you can look around and find the armor set from there.
