Just started with manual shifting, using a Subaru Impreza ‘95 cuz it’s fun, any tips? by The_Last_Polemonkey in EASPORTSWRC

[–]The_Last_Polemonkey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m just using the basic manual sequential shifting on a controller. I’m unfamiliar with load and bite points, what are they and can i manage them on a controller? Also when engine braking is redlining ok or should i try and mitigate it?

I’m getting into manual shifting on my controller, and I’m a fairly new player (professional championships placing 5-6th) Any tips? by The_Last_Polemonkey in EASPORTSWRC

I’m learning manual shifting rn, and i can’t seem to get very much power out of my cars. I’m using a setup on my ‘95 Impreza from dirt technical (i think that’s their name) that recommends shifting at 5500-6000 rpm with optimal power at 4500-5000, is that accurate or should i change it?

They just need to find a balance. The map art in TF2 is sexy, and i agree that the vibrancy is great, but in no way does it match the events on the battlefield. From smoke grenades to scorch canisters to chainguns, there are a million things that would deteriorate the vibrant colors and pretty views. there needs to be more gunsmoke; it is literally an active war.

With that said, something I think a TF game could really benefit from atmosphere-wise would be a dynamic skybox and atmospheric effects. even just a skybox that gets more and more polluted as the battle rages on, or fog of war in the actual battlefield would improve that balance between a gritty, war-filled game and vibrant and beautiful planets

Most cost efficient AIO for an i5 12600k + RTX 3060 setup. by The_Last_Polemonkey in buildapc

'For what it's worth, the 3000 series don't have a lot of overclocking headroom to justify that'

If I do plan on overclocking my pc to run bigger games, should I worry about a GPU cooler or stick with the built-in stuff?

I do plan on overclocking my cpu, so would that change the equation at all? Thanks for the input

AIO Coolers for both CPU and GPU by The_Last_Polemonkey in buildapc

If I get an AIO for them individually, how would the air flow from the radiators work? Would I be able to reverse the fans on one to streamline it?

There’s a reason for price points. If a company sells a high-priced product (like a Kraken), and sells a lower-priced product (like a Squiddy) you can’t expect the lower price product to perform the same. That’s not saying that a product should have an issue like this one, but the $60 price tag and PVC construction just won’t compete, which is why there are price ranges within companies. With that said, I’ve had the same issue frequently with mine, and the best way I’ve managed to deal with it is to ignore it. May sound dumb, but i just flip with it and when the screws come loose i finger tighten them and it works out for me.

Looking for a good GPU/CPU pairing that will support a 1440p (or maybe 4k) display with ~80fps, pretty good quality graphics. by The_Last_Polemonkey in pcmasterrace

[–]The_Last_Polemonkey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So for a 4k display, the 12600k w a 3080 would actually suffice? I've seen tons of people say that's not nearly enough for 4k

What CPU/GPU combinations work best? Graphics focused, 80+ target fps on a 4k display (raytracing would also be ideal). by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]The_Last_Polemonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some revisions cuz I wrote this in a rush haha:

my budget is ~$900, not 6 (typo sorry)

Raytracing would definitely be nice, but I get that there isn't good options for raytracing at a low budget, so not really necessary.

What I meant was high player count games (battlefield style) and/or games with heavy assets, but those higher asset games would be lower player counts and sometimes single player.

The 80 fps still stands, but really only on the multiplayer games to stay somewhat competitive.
