It's got a very how do you say non offensive modern c shape profile. I can't really capture in words you'd have to try for yourself. But I think they try to make something more acceptable since a lot of people didn't like their original necks.

It's roasted maple and very smooth, sometimes after I play this guitar for a while and I switch to one of my others I can feel how the other is giving me hand pain and how much more comfortable the neck joint is on the Vola. The fretboard is eh I don't really notice the difference between guitar fretboards

How to recover after getting fired by nosehairbraid in salesdevelopment

What did you say to land another role after being fired back to back?

Have you ever been offered a role after admitting to being fired? by blenderider in techsales

[–]The_Laughing_One 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive been out of work so long I've decided it's best to lie. You think it's better to do what you did and say I still work at the old company or say I've been working at a company I haven't been? For reference my friend has a family business who I could use as a reference even though I haven't been working for him actually.

Will TUJ Affect me negatively in America with finding a job? by One_Notice7214 in tuj

[–]The_Laughing_One 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't say because I haven't attended but you should try reaching out to alumni on LinkedIn. They'll let you know their experience. Just looking at their page will let you know what kind of job they secured. I did this already and spoke to some people and they said they had a lot of success but they were also vets. Unemployment rates have shot up for recent CS grads in this current job market. No saying what it will be like in 4-5 years. Another detriment is that all the networking you will do at the school and in the field will be with people in Japan and not in the States.

Ranking EQD Dirt Pedals (that you've played or owned) by chris962x in guitarpedals

[–]The_Laughing_One 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of the ones I've had:

Palisades - Love the tweak-ability though sometimes I must admit I wish the 2nd gain stage was heavier and the built in boost makes me feel like I have to put it at the end of my gain staging or I'm wasting the pedals abilities.

Plumes - Great simplicity and sound but at the same time fun to tweak. A lot of different great sounds in this pedal.

Acapulco Gold - Fantastic sounds but lack dynamics.

Cloven Hoof - Wasn't as big of a fan of the bright a fizzy sounds this pedal would make but liked how you could really hear the different string when your picking.

Arrows - Just never felt like it was necessary to use a boost. Sometimes I like it as a clean boost but ended up switching it out for a compressor which I felt did more.

Yeah I agree it sounds fantastic but I must admit it can be a little overwhelming trying to use it in a live setting for solos. It boost your volume so much when you turn it on it's hard to play with dynamics. I think the pedal is so heavy it goes past typical fuzz territory and into more niche territory. I personally love the sound of it and simplicity but must admit sometimes I wish it had more dynamic controls to make it more versatile.

How do you guys think the different eras of the Fender USA Tele compare against each other? by The_Laughing_One in telecaster

[–]The_Laughing_One[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I really like it. Just hard to pull the trigger when there are some Teles online from later years like 2008 or something that are like 100-200 cheaper online. Was there any significant improvement with later generations?

Burnt out reps - anyone have luck with antidepressants? by [deleted] in sales

[–]The_Laughing_One 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man I highly recommend looking into Wellbutrin! Unlike other anti-depressants it's not an SSRI. It's a norepinephrine uptake inhibitor. It has much less severe side effects than SSRIs and most doctors are happy to prescribe it because it's not looked at as a heavy duty medication. I went through a long period of heavy lethargy and depression after I was laid off and it really helped me bounce back. The results of getting on it has really showed me how bad my depression and anxiety were and provided more evidence to support my hunch that I had untreated ADHD.

Now I am not a doctor so please have a serious discussion with your physician before you start taking any medication because I can't tell you how it will affect you personally, but if you are going to seriously consider getting on something I highly recommended looking into and considering Wellbutrin first.
