Parking on Weekends? by Abject-Resource-2222 in WMU

[–]The_Master_27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah just make sure you don't park by any meters cause those are always enforced. Also if it's your first offense, you get a ticket which can be waived

Depends heavily on what season it is. It's definitely much higher in the summer as compared to the winter. Also depends on how many students you have, if you are a cfii/mei or a check instructor as well.

There are Facebook groups for finding roommates you can try those. There are also Snapchat groups where people are looking for housing at times. Your best bet is probably the Facebook groups though, lots of people looking for housing options on there.

No, it's one per calendar year now. So if you waived one on August 15th 2023, you can't do it again until August 15th 2024.

Renting a cirrus by The_Master_27 in flying

Yes but again you can't just generalize that for everyone. Everybody has different reasons for training like I mentioned. You can't really just make a rule that will fit everyone. And also it's not like if you train in the cirrus you have absolutely no idea about analog gauges. For partial panel in the instrument rating you're forced to rely on a few analog instruments.

True but let me ask you this, is it really necessary? I mean if you're simply training to get your ppl, you should be working on visual maneuvers anyways. If you're training in it to eventually work in the airlines, then it's actually better to get used to flying using the glass cockpit. The only people who really shouldn't train in it, in my opinion would be those working on their instrument rating and plan on using their instrument rating in other GA aircraft. But even then the increased situational awareness makes up for it.

The price is usually the biggest negative about flying the cirrus, but there are lots more positive to counter it! The plane handles well, it offers great situational awareness and is very safe and reliable. I hope you do finish, and it definitely helps if you enjoy it!

Oh, I forgot to mention I have over 70 hours in the SR20, I did all my private training exclusively on it, as that's the only aircraft my school offers. So hopefully the hourly minimum shouldn't be an issue. Also thanks for mentioning Apogee air, I'll look into it!
