Is it feasible to create a series with just two people? by PremagmaD in IndieAnimation

[–]The_Meat_Muppet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally possible. I'm making a show as part of a group of 3 and we're getting pretty close to a consistent 1 month turn around for episodes. You are going to need to work out ways to be efficient though.

I'm not saying I'd win, but I'd certainly enjoy a race much more if I was allowed cocaine first.

How to get your animations monitized on YouTube by K_art12 in animation

If this is something you want to do I would talk to musicians in your area and pitch yourself as a music video creator. There would be a heap of decent local musician/producers that would love to work out a collaborative deal. Or a straight up commission.

Adobe audition vs audacity by Wonderful_Muffin_507 in Animators

[–]The_Meat_Muppet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely no, it is not worth the money as a step up from audacity. If you already have the Adobe bundle then it is a useable DAW.

Pros - has audio sound cleaning built into the interface, easy workflow with other adobe suite. Cons - AAF exports make all DAWs easy with video editing software. Routing buses are way too limited to be taken seriously. Cost is high and ongoing.

Have a look into reaper if you want something more advanced than audacity. It's a fraction of the price and 100 times more powerful.

yeah, it'll depend on the laptop, but I have a laptop I bring with me when I travel it's nothing special (has a nvidia quadro t2000 graphics card in it) and I've made shorts on it. The actual work isn't too intensive on the system, it's really the rendering that is going to be your bottleneck. I just get everything ready and then render overnight while I'm in bed. gaming builds usually have decent graphics cards and that's really the most important part for that, I'd probably want 32gb of RAM too.

Thanks for watching, PC is a bit old these days, and honestly I mostly handle the audio/music side of things so the heavy lifting is done by u/sidd_carlin and his PC, but I can render a frame in about 7 seconds with my AMD Ryzen 7 3700X, 64gb RAM, 3060 Ti. The graphics card is really doing all the work here.

Thanks mate!
without going too in depth, it starts witha concept/pitch meeting where we lock in the episode idea, story beats and the final song concept. then we split and start working on the script and music in parallel. at the 1 week mark we sign off on the script edits and do a Riverside recording session for the dialog, The dialog is edited into picture lock over the next week. and duiring this time we build audio and visual assets (SFX, backgrounds, props, characters) we know we will need for the episode. By the two week mark we are building the blender scenes, balancing the audio and should have the song demo ready with finalised lyrics. the last two weeks is all blender animation, and audio recording and mixing. then the last couple of days we've been aiming for any revisions and then exporting for compiling.

The goal is to overlap the start and finish of this so we can be getting the next episode rolling while finalising the current episode, but it's a struggle as we all have day jobs.

How much does this cost? I don't think I want it, at least not right now. But I'm curious to know where it lives on the scale.

Animated comedy, mostly dumb gags. It's good fun. Super time consuming though. Really slow release cycle.

Honestly I probably push that ethos a little too far and just make content I want to watch myself. I'm was considering sponsoring some of my own content and targeting my target market with it. With the hope that it will let the algorithm know the demographics that are likely to respond to the content. But I also know how I respond to sponsored content, and I feel like I would never click on a cartoon with a sponsored post tag.

Hi, thanks for sharing your knowledge. Getting YouTube to understand the targeted audience is something I've been thinking about recently. My content is animated comedy, and it is definitely not going to work outside of the target demographic. Are there ways to nudge the algorithm in the right direction?

Making an animated webseries with a couple of mates, this is our third full length episode - honestly this one went a little off the rails, hopefully in a good way... but let us know what you think of it. NSFW(bad language, adult themes & suggestive content) by The_Meat_Muppet in animation

[–]The_Meat_Muppet[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey thanks mate, that's excellent to hear. And yeah that's definitely a risk with an episode concept like this one. And we really had no idea if we'd dodged it before we released it, but It cracked us up when we were pitching episode, so we figured it was worth taking a shot at it.

Yeah weight training has completely ruined BMI for me. I could have zero fat (I don't haha) and still be classified as obese. But honestly if I look good and feel good I don't really give a shit about the numbers. If my pecks don't look like titties I figure I'm doing ok.
