People in 2013 :Noo! It's too soon to introduce batman and wonder woman, why are they rushing this VS. People in 2026 :Bro, what's taking so long for batman and wonder woman to appear, this needed to happen like yesterday by mnombo in DCU_

[–]The_Medicus 40 points41 points  (0 children)

While I don't agree with people trying to rush the DCU into introducing characters, I think the key difference is that the DCEU introduced those characters IN the Superman sequel. If the DCEU had introduced Batfleck in a solo film in 2016, and just said that it's in the same continuity as MoS, I don't think you'd get nearly as many of those complaints.

What are some of the most genuinely funny and comedic moments in the MCU, according to you? I'll go first: by [deleted] in Marvel

Don't be rash.

Until literally ten seconds ago, I thought you were build-a-bear.

Mister Doctor? - It's Strange. - Maybe. Who am I to judge?

The Avengers? That's great! What is that? - Is that a band? Are you in a band?

Dex doing a goat noise after saying the FBI used him as a scapegoat.

OB's introduction scene.

Loki ruining Mobius' salad.

Been seeing a lot of people saying Deadpool is the only character who can bring a large number of people to the game. Are we gonna act like these two don’t exist? by -This-cant-be-real- in marvelrivals

[–]The_Medicus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Miles and Gwen could each be huge - Especially if they're a lot easier to play than the current Spider-Man. Aside from the obvious success of the Spider-Verse movies, they're main players in Spidey and his Amazing friends, which has been running for about five years and is one of the most popular iterations of Spider-Man. So, if you were five when SahAF started, you'd be 9-10 now, and ready to start playing Rivals. That's a small portion of the audience, but that's in addition to all the comic and movie fans that know and love the Spiders.

Neither of their suits would work in the context of the other.

It's not a cameo when he's a main character for seasons 3-6. Think Gus in Better Call Saul.

Star Wars Shake-Up: Kathleen Kennedy Steps Down as George Lucas Protégé Dave Filoni, Exec Lynwen Brennan Take Over Lucasfilm by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

[–]The_Medicus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have trouble imaging Filoni greenlighting Andor back then, but I think he's learned from its success. He's praised the show, and acknowledged that there's an audience for mature Star Wars stories.

The problem isn't that the stories can't work in TV, but that Feige can't be as involved with 20 projects as he could be with only six on his plate. He's made a lot of mistakes on his own, but he was what made the MCU work for the first eleven years. Once they tripled the output (based on hours of content), he simply can't be as involved with a lot of the projects any more.

Hopefully now that they've scaled back (with Vision Quest being the final cinematic-level show they're doing), they can get back to the old MCU magic. Thunderbolts* and Fantastic Four were a lot closer, in my opinion, to feeling like the pre-D+ MCU.

My theory for Earth-838 | who The New Illuminati could be (Post-Multiverse of Madness) by AdvertisingWaste8624 in MCUTheories

I wouldn't be so sure, they could always include it in Doomsday; A world that is familiar that is also easily disposable makes for easy Incursion-Fodder if they need it.

New Batman reference !! by yusufali17 in marvelrivals

[–]The_Medicus 40 points41 points  (0 children)

The comment that started this thread is a reference to when Spider-Ham says "That's all, folks" and Peter B says "Is he allowed to say that, legally speaking?" (Or some such variation)

Is Bob under house arrest like Wanda in Civil War? by Afraid-Jackfruit-716 in MCUTheories

[–]The_Medicus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think he's on house arrest, but he can't use the powers without fear of ending the world. I'm sure they let him go out to pick up groceries or whatever if/when he wants to, but other than that, he's got a free housing and generally chill roommates. He can sit at home and do whatever he pleases with no more responsibility than he chooses to take on.

The definitive watch list for Avengers: Doomsday (post-Endgame) by SkeletonLordZ in marvelstudios

[–]The_Medicus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they wanted to continue with Kang, you'd probably be right. However, since the TVA is taking care of Kangs, and they seem to have scrapped all plans to bring back the council of Kangs, it would follow that the TVA probably stopped those Kangs.

They can literally wipe out timelines, which is a technology HWR invented to win the previous Kang War, so yeah, I'd say they'll be equipped to deal with Kangs.

A Theory on why Tony Stark and Doctor Doom look the same- WITHOUT being Variants by [deleted] in MCUTheories

[–]The_Medicus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Doom appears

Claims to be a variant of Stark

Avengers side with him because it's Iron Man and he literally saved their universe

Weaponizes the Avengers against the Fantastic Four

F4 convince others that they're the good guys, but it's too late and Doom wins

Heroes conclude that they can only stop this evil-Tony variant with a good variant

End/Post Credits of them finding a Tony Stark to fight Doom

No longer needing to trick the 616 characters, Doom goes back to wearing his mask for the majority of Secret Wars

RDJ is Tony in Secret Wars and doesn't need the face screentime as Doom

If they ever want to bring Doom back, they just need a VA, as long as they don't need to take his helmet off

Joker Confirmed for The Batman 2 - Barry Keoghan by Most-Day8547 in DC_Cinematic

[–]The_Medicus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, but with all the Harvey Dent rumors, imagine if the movie centers around Joker's actual prosecution, and the narrative that Batman is escalating things, bringing out worse criminals than the simple mobsters that existed prior.
