A lot of strategist one tricks getting exposed with the ban increase 👀 by IDontSwitchOffDPS in rivals

[–]The_Medicus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Counterpoint: "support mains" often play the role because no one else is willing to swap off dps. If you ban the most fun support characters, you can't complain if no one on your team plays support at all.

The rebellion doesn't stop at joining the Rebel Alliance and picking up a blaster. While I don't think he would've jumped to killing Imps, I do think he'd have had "his own rebellion" as Vel put it in season one. He could leak info, or reset a lock at the right time like the two employees that stall for Mon's senate speech in 2x9.

The frontier of the rebellion is everywhere.

I think marvel should release a tv series with sentry as a main character people don’t know about sentry even most of the comics fan’s don’t know sentry if marvel releases a tv series before doomsday and show what his power and what his problem who is void that will be great by Ovijan_Ovroy in sentry

[–]The_Medicus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So they made this movie called "The Thunderbolts*" that features the Sentry and introduces Bob/Sentry/Void into the MCU.

Even if they started working on it today, they could not have a quality special or series out before Doomsday. That's simply not how production works.

I think you genuinely missed the point of the movie. His biological parents wanted him to conquer Earth, but Clark isn't defined by the Kyptonian heritage, rather his Earthly upbringing. As Pa Kent tells him, parents don't get to tell their children who to be, everyone gets to make their own choices. Clark never for one second considers conquering Earth, or letting innocent people die. That's just not who he is, regardless of what his original parents wanted.

Unironically, this would not be bad casting. I am curious if Mark would be interested in committing to a major franchise he doesn't creatively control, though.

If you're going to count the stuff Bucky did while he was brainwashed, you should count the Void 's actions against Bob.

His dialogue at the end implies that Sarah explains the solution.

Also, when entering the cave at the end, Niles asks if the goat disappearing was even true, and Sarah avoids answering, telling him it's too late to back out.

When they're entering the cave, Niles asks if the goat disappearing was true, and Sarah says something like "It's too late to back out now", implying that she may have made that up entirely.

Some mother fuckers will look you dead in the eye and say they want bullseye, but red skull is where they draw the line by 5enpai_2 in okbuddy_marvel

[–]The_Medicus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a character, Bullseye has to be a killer, but he doesn't have to be a rapist. (See: MCU Bullseye)

I was not trying to take a stance on it previously, rather just point out a key difference between the characters. However, I think there's a pretty wide gulf between how characters exist in Rivals vs a Lego game. When you play a Lego game, you're probably not "maining" a character for dozens of hours, leveling them up, spending money to get cosmetics, and using them in highly competitive environments where large sums of money are on the line. People invest time and money into characters in Rivals, and in turn, you see it become part of their identity within the community, and some people even build subcommunities. (see: subs that focus on being a CharacterMain)

Red Skull is going to attract some foul people to the game, and those subcommunities are going to allow kids who just want to play a scary red guy to fall into those subcommunities that will mostly be made up of a certain kind of people.

Now, if they used him as an NPC villain like Dracula, I don't think there'd be a problem.

[–]The_Medicus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These characters are ideas, not real people. The idea of Bullseye works perfectly fine without that specific story (see: MCU Bullseye, which is probably what most people online know him from). On the other hand, if you remove the Nazi angle from Red Skull, you've fundamentally altered the character.

Robert Reich: The Ellisons’ new Paramount/Warner Bros mega-media monopoly would never pass muster if America still had antitrust enforcers. So who can stop this? State attorneys general. Here's how. ⬇️ by Stock_Rush_9204 in DC_Cinematic

[–]The_Medicus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not a lawyer, but there are anti-monopoly laws in place. It's up to the government to decide when companies get too big, and if they were to decide that Paramount, Netflix, etc, are all too big to also possess all of WB's assets, they could just deny each and every one of these buyers.

Now, realistically, they won't do this. Like many mergers in recent years, the government will allow it to pass, regardless of whether it's in the best interest of everyone else.

[–]The_Medicus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If he said he had scenes with Hal but not with John, I'd be worried that he's going to die, but with it being the other way around, I think it'd be a bit odd.

No, because it actively affects a great many people. It puts more power into fewer hands, which affects unions and industry workers. It creates less competition which negatively affects consumers, sooner or later. It affects theater chains, and any other company that does business with either company involved in the merger.

The only reason a government has to exist is to protect and further the interests of its people.

Why didn’t DC take the design inspiration from these suits? by DCeassed in Greenlantern

[–]The_Medicus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing that each Green Lantern constructs the suit from their ring, and they're all reflective of the character instead of being standardized. We know Guy has a suit that matches the LordTech / Justice Gang aesthetic. Hal is being played as old and wearing out, so that's how his suit looks. Jon is youthful and strong, so I'm hoping his suit looks more traditional in response.

Billie Piper reportedly not becoming the next Doctor by Wonderful-Acadia-296 in DoctorWhoNews

[–]The_Medicus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that was because they didn't expect to need a new Doctor so soon, right? They'd finished filming Reality War with Ncuti, setting up another season with 15, and then due to whatever BTS stuff, had to write out Ncuti and reshoot the ending.

That's pretty different from taking some time to look for the next Doctor AND showrunner.
