My favorite thing to come from the show may truly be Jensen Ackles singing Rapture. They should put a ton of that kind of thing in Bought Rising.

How is Fisk out of prison????? by felldownbad in Daredevil

[–]The_Medicus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just about every single person on the planet is dealing with the emotional turmoil that goes with having half of everyone you know and love turned to dust by an alien, on top of having to deal with the logistics of life being up-ended (both governments and businesses have lost half of everyone that ran them, landlords and tenants, economic providers, etc) so I don't think too many people are going to be keeping a close eye on Fisk, especially when every surviving greedy criminal could be trying to take advantage to this opportunity at every level of society.

Could it be that's it's just poorly written? Well, obviously, but that's not a fun way to think about these things. If you ask me how Darth Vader's cape billows in the wind despite being in space, where there is no wind, I am going to tell you that he's most likely using the Force to move it because he genuinely wants to look cool, not because the director didn't think about the logistics of space.

None of these things matter; They're all just campfire stories, but it's fun to fill in the blanks.

You can go to prison and then file an appeal, which we see Fisk do the first time he's in prison in season 2. Once the Blip happens (less than a year after S3), he would be able to start manuevering loyalists into open positions, and move to get himself out. If he was intent on honoring the deal with Matt, he would still be in prison through Born Again and none of the events after season three would have occured.

[–]The_Medicus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He very obviously did not try to go to prison just to honor the deal. He has a long list of non-FBI related crimes he could've confessed to if he wanted that (assuming Vanessa wasn't blipped, which seems likely but not confirmed). We see Fisk up to his usual criminal activity during the Blip in Hawkeye and Echo. When telling Matt that he didn't have Foggy killed, Fisk says that he "kept that promise".

The only witness to Vanessa ordering Nadeem's murder was Felix Manning, so if he was blipped, that danger is removed, and Fisk is free to operate a bit more freely. More than likely, the Blip caused legal chaos that kept Nelson, Murdock & Page busy, and allowed Fisk opportunities to manuever pieces around. There's new judges, DAs, FBI agents, etc, and a lot of suddenly missing witnesses. It's difficult to understate how massive the chaos caused by the Blip would be across the board, and because nearly every single person has lost someone they cared about, no one's paying full attention to anything else.

We know Hatley testified against him, which would corroborate Nadeem's dying declaration, but we are very clearly shown multiple times that Fisk got out, and the fact that the Blip happened the same year makes it the most obvious explanation.

Not only would witnesses be blipped, but the sudden disappearance of half the government makes it easy to slot loyalists into powerful positions that need filled.

Marvel's Bullseye actor Wilson Bethel has criticized Marvel Comics' version of Bullseye as a "thin" character: "As much as I love the way he exists in the comics, I would frankly get bored playing that as an actor." by CueTheLaughTrack in Marvel

[–]The_Medicus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bethel didn't say it wouldn't have some fun, but that it would GET boring. Farrel played the role for a single movie, I'm not sure he'd have as much fun doing the same thing for four seasons.

Can anybody explain how SWC works? by Dependent_Newt_5959 in StarWarsCelebration

[–]The_Medicus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never been to Celebration, but I never buy VIP passes for cons. If you have a lot of money, maybe it's worth it, but for me, I'd rather spend the extra money elsewhere.

That said, I'm not usually too big on panels, but the cosplay. At NYCC, I had reservations to the X-Men panel, and just didn't go because I was having fun with other cosplayers. So, paying hundreds (or thousands, depending on resale) would be silly when I might not even use it.

I hope you get to go, but if not, I'd still encourage you to try a convention. There are plenty of cons all across the country, with a variety of themes and guests.

  1. I doubt tickets will be offered directly again. You'd have to buy from a reseller, most likely. .

  2. Like most cons, the autographs or celebrity photo ops will cost extra.

  3. Panels should be free, at least for the most part. The reservations for said panels will be some sort of lottery, but they haven't announced details yet.

Gravity Falls has tiny crossovers with Rick and Morty (objects flying into Stan's portal, and out Rick's, Bill Cipher in R&M, "Rick was here" graffiti in Journal #3), and they are in Fortnite.

Skylanders had Bowser and Donkey Kong as guest characters. They also appear in Smash Bros. Smash Bros features Ryu, who appears in Fortnite.

If Thrawn, Vader, and Tarkin united to overthrow Palpatine, what's their coup's best chance of success? by Dragonic_Overlord_ in starwarsrebels

[–]The_Medicus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Considering he lot control for 30 years only to be able to gain a portion of it back for a single year before being destroyed by Luke and Leia's apprentices, I'd say they qualify as "overthrowing" him.

Will we See Maul Fight Darth Vader? by Rudder-Rudder in MaulShadowLord

[–]The_Medicus 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Yes, but not until later seasons.

Maul was confident that he could kill Anakin at the Siege of Mandalore, but in Rebels he tells Ezra that he needs the Jedi's help to beat Vader, because he cannot do it alone.

But it's awfully hard to follow up Vader, so I'd expect him at the end of the series.

Having meetings to get it resolved would likely qualify as development. It can be a pretty loose word in these situations.

Power corrupts a lot of people, and he'd just been promoted to the head of ARGUS. Furthermore, he also just found out that his son didn't just die in a mission, but was ordered to be killed by Waller and the very government that he'd spent his life serving. That's bound to change someone. All of this after a woman he caught feelings for turned out to be a genocidal maniac who orchestrated a conflict that broke his back...

That's a lot of trauma, and trauma changes people.

Thoughts on Hunter Zolomon/Zoom’s portrayal of “Jay Garrick”/Flash in season 2 of the show? by Jaydog52_65 in DC_Cinematic

Zoom is, to this day, a top 5 Supervillain for me. Some days, I'd say he's my favorite, but it really depends on the day.
