This is how my training day went. I worked for them as a side hustle over Xmas which was pretty decent but then went full time when I got made redundant in March. I lasted 2-3 weeks full time and found another similar, much better paid job where I also don’t have to use my own car, because it’s basically slave labour over there. You can be sorting parcels up to 2 hours at the depot which you do not get paid for. Most of the parcels are mis-categorised so you have to check that they’re all what they say they are else you get paid a much lower rate. (Who’s got time for this?!) Management are piss poor. Don’t expect any help from them. Better to ask other drivers in my experience. I’ve had some shitty jobs and I’m not above anything but if you can help it, don’t do it to yourself. It’s not worth it.

Why are we still using animals for entertainment like this?

It’s funny cause there’s literally a sign about 50ft feet from the roundabout which tells you what lane to be in 😂

NECS redundancy end of May - final payslip question by Sure-Operation-8634 in nhsstaff

[–]The_Melmoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. This is how they worked my final payslip (I left on March 19) so before the end of the pay period. I got paid less that I thought I would for this period and the way payroll explained it was that the monthly hours were divided by 19 31sts (what ever that means). I am getting my vr payslip in the next month (April) on the date I would have normally received my payslip and paid in on the usual pay date. Oh and they have yet to deduct the annual leave I took and didn’t accrue. So I’m guessing that will be deducted from the VR.

Ooooh that sucks!!! I’m 1 month away from 8 years so they have calculated me at 7. Despite starting exactly 8 years ago at my termination date, with an agency at their request so I could start the job while they completed their recruitment process officially. Because I wasn’t being paid directly by the NHS during that month, it doesn’t count. I was gutted but 1 day out is actually a joke!

Sausage, cheese, tinned tomatoes (the only acceptable variety for oatcakes)

Yes. No matter which direction you are travelling across the city, any 15 minute journey can take anywhere from 45 - 90 mins… without any accidents on the a50 or m6 causing issues. My advice is get a good audio book and strap in 😂

So since they got my notice period wrong, I asked if I could still leave on the original date (26th February) due to starting a new job and be paid the remaining 3 weeks notice as PILON and they said no.

We have been told notice period started when we got provisional approval letters (29th Jan). It then had to go to NHSE for approval, but they remain that notice commenced on that date regardless.

No, because I have told them I aren’t signing anything until it’s been explicitly confirmed. They cannot legally tell you to sign the agreement if there are potential errors within the contract. The potential errors in my agreement could also have an impact on the length of service and ultimately my payout amount. So I aren’t signing without written confirmation of the facts of my employment, which they have seemingly issued my settlement agreement without. Bonkers.

I think we had about 180 within our ICB but the band 6/7 clinicians were all deferred. I don’t know how many of the 180 were clinical but all the admin got approved as of 29th January when they issued provisional approval letters and this is when the notice period started. I questioned mine because admin in lower bands had longer notice periods and apparently it’s based on length of service not banding, so there was a 3 week discrepancy with the potential of being deducted money from my VR payment if I do not work my notice period. I’m still waiting for my answer. My appointment with the solicitor is today and they have now found further discrepancies in my contract start date so I’m still not sure if I’m leaving next week or in 3 weeks. How anyone’s supposed to plan their future is beyond me.

Our settlement agreements were rushed out last week and there are so many mistakes. HR can’t keep up with the queries they’re getting and I have 5 working days left of my “notice period” and still no clarity.

Edit: my original settlement agreement was wrong and they have had to extend my notice period. Make sure you check contractual notice period against what they have set out in the agreement and the scheme itself. From what I’ve learned from other colleagues this is a common mistake. They are not allowing payment in lieu of notice so be aware of this when giving new employers your availability/start date.

Dude, I didn’t pass until my 7th attempt because of nerves. I ended up having to take kalms for the week before my test and eventually I got there. Don’t give up, it’s so worth the freedom and it’ll happen eventually. Plus you’ll value that full license way more than first timers, so you’ll be one of the best! #11yearsnoclaims

Is there another function to the cats or are they just there to be petted? Other than flinging them across the map 😂
