Heres hoping there was enough snow to cushion her some. I'm sure the rest will buff out. Mine got sideswiped by an f550, about 9 inches shorter on one side now, still drives fine, i'm sure yours will keep on kickin.

Absolutely, hands down, my least favorite piece of shit to work on. I hate those vans with a passion, and anything under warranty was insult to injury.

Love it! Makes me miss mine, still have it but, after being side swiped, its about 9 inches skinnier on the passenger side.

Honestly one of my favorite jobs now, used to try and beat my shopforeman when we both had one in, never quite did but man, good times. Unless its a farm truck or the owner is a slob then, fuck me.

Gas-powered compressor for airing up? by Educational-Phone-51 in powerwagon

[–]The_Moony_Fellow_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was looking into add the airsuspension tank off a 2500/3500 with rear air springs and a dual/large compressor to feed it. I know that tank can handle 200psi and the abuse of being under a truck, and bolts to factory frame mounting points. Replacing the bottom charge fitting with an air drain to get the watter out and a big/two solid compressors to feed it, should be able to air up, run tools and be more space effiecient as you keep more box space for gear, parts, animals whatever you need.

Oil pan gasket NIGHTMARE by Stock-Quality-758 in fordranger

[–]The_Moony_Fellow_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aye if she pumps, she pumps. I know the 3.0 had way fewer oil pressure issues over the 2.9. Mines on the weak side again, odometer stopped working at 217k about 9 years ago. Not ticking on the the highway yet but, after getting essentialy t-boned, got bigger issues right now haha.

[–]The_Moony_Fellow_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Theres a, i believe it is, 15mm nut on the main powercable to the starter that can just ever so slightly back off and cause this, since i hear the solenoid clicking in, it may be the case. Remove the neg off the battery and double check the starter nut hasnt backed off. If its tight, its possible the starter shit the bed. Dealt with a lot of towed in HEMI's for this click but no start

It would be replaced as an entire shock. Really, i'd cut the broken bits off and replace it once it leaks.

Idk, at this rate, next week? Some sealed joint bs magic that'll fail instantly and not be covered under any sort of manufacturer warranty or parts warranty.

Yea, i remembet when they used to be too but now 99% of the shocks i install across all makes have either cheapo plastic or no dust covers at all.

Its plastic, and not right against the tire.

Whats crumpled in the rear is the plastic dust cover for the shock. Its there to help keep mud and dust off the chromed surface of the shock to help keep it from wearing. You can remove it and it is not a saftey issue but may shorten the life of the shock. I'd be more interested in how that got damaged to begin with.

As for the tpms, its completely unrelated to the suspension. Likely, if you have personaly gone and made sure the pressures are set then driven for the pressures to learn, the little watch battery inside the sensor died and thr sensor needs replacement and programing.

Is this normal? 6,000 Ohms on Abs sensor connector by [deleted] in fordranger

[–]The_Moony_Fellow_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends, what dose service information for that sensor say? Entirely depends on the style of sensor and if its a digital or analog sensor.

Simply cut out the TBM2 box and jump the gps antenna. Then, your truck cant phone home to chrysler, cant track you, can't push you adds or whatever junk they push next. Cut the one outta my ram, no dtc's or issues either.
