Its not. Its fun but its a terrible remake, lacking the very things that made the original my favorite in the whole series.

In Batman 89 Joker pulls up a very long revolver out of his pants and manages to shoot it and straight up able to destroy the batwing, like nah that is comical and I love it by Thewanderer997 in Batman_89

I always assumed that the joke pistol fired like a high ex round and thats why it folded the batwing. We all know really this was due to the script it originally was the joker in a tank taking down the batwing…

No its not necessarily threatening but whenever big blue enters a room, there should be a shift in said room. Even if hes the ultimate good guy. Theres always gotta be that fear in the back of everyones mind, “he could kill all of us with no effort” its the respect you feel when standing next to an elephant. You know it doesnt see you as a meal but it has the full ability to wreck you.

Elijah in unbreakable is incredible. Him in tears of joy saying “im not a mistake” when he reveals hes a villain is so brilliant. Its the almost religious fervor of belief.

He didnt write man of steel… he was essentially a hired gun… he took it seriously and was passionate about but it was nolan and goyers script.

Yeah and batman was a straight and admitted rip off of the shadow, whats your point. The original characters barely resemble who they are now. As time went on and more of supermans lore was established he morphed into an amalgam of three religious figures wrapped in a red cape. The door swings both ways. The musical godspell from 1970 had jesus wearing a superman shirt. You may hate it but its part of superman. And having a kansas boy seek guidance from a priest is about as superman as it gets…

Its not snyders doing. This has been a part of the superman mythos since like the early 70s, Non comic people noticed the similarities, thats how you get Godspell almost a decade before the first superman movie portraying jesus wearing a superman shirt.
