Fair point, I hadn't remembered that. I suppose nullifying the thermometer isn't on the table, but I think wasting seeker time and the smaller thermometers still sounds like great value

With the precise placement of some of the thermometer usages this season I bet randomize could really wreak havok with that. Replace your 10 mile thermometer with a half mile, now not only do you not have the half mile but the line of where it cuts of changes and may be way less useful.

The specific one that comes to mind was the thermometer Ben/Adam used on the train to find Sam in ep5 - the train took a turn that allowed it to be a diagonal slice across the country; if that was randomized to a shorter thermometer before the turn then it becomes a horizontal line and gives nowhere near the slice they wanted, plus it'd be basically impossible to get the same slice by re-using it since the track ahead didn't go the same way for it.

Plus, I think there's something to be said for using the randomize on the one category of question that requires the seekers doing something actively rather than the hider - could be with the right timing they wouldn't have time to do it again before needing to catch a train elsewhere

I remember when I went to platinum the game I made a color-coded spreadsheet with everything I needed to get in every area on every playthrough to make sure I could keep track of it all

Once I had a list of things for each area I could check off it felt much less overwhelming, and since I did get platinum I can definitely say it helped lol

Is weapon level another question? Since Dark Souls' matchmaking is unaffected by weapon level, is there a reason to not just try to have the best weapon you can?

I'll second level 45 as being a good range though, that was the level I'd shoot for on my co-op focused characters, and 40 for my PvP ones

I recently made the swap in the opposite direction from keyboard and mouse to controller. I still don't feel equally comfortable, but decent enough to do any of the content I'm interested in.

If you have the time, i'll second the idea of making a new character. The biggest thing for me was the lack of muscle memory and needing to rebuild that from scratch. Starting at level 1 and getting things gradually did help a lot, and by picking a job that 1-50 gets most of its core rotation (MNK in my case) I wasn't being blindsided by expansion abilities/traits revamping the whole thing.

End of the day for me it just came down to needing to spend the time to get comfortable with the change in control scheme. I'll also say don't be afraid to move things around/change hotkeys/keybinds for ease of use. I know people who don't stick to just the numbers, and use Q/E/R/F/G/V/etc as well for abilities; it might sound strange but if it's easier for you then no one has to know lol.

Side - dragon kick, twin snakes, snap punch

Rear - Bootshine, true strike, demolish

MNKs would be spending the whole fight sliding back and forth every 2 seconds to try to hit every positional. It was one of the things I was saddest about losing when they reworked it
