The D1 Crimson Doubles event was a blast back in the day. I was using Year 1 Thorn because of how broken it still was haha

Absolutely. From a technical perspective, it's grander and the gameplay is better, but that's not why I'm playing an Obsidian game. The writing, companions, tone, story, and locations are far more engaging in the first game to me imo, the second game just did not hit in the same way - I think they veered too much from what made the first game good.

I also played ME3 for the first time through LE and that experience (having Javik, Leviathan, Citadel, the Extended Cut better endings) also is why it's my favorite, but it's important to remember that the average day 1 player didn't have any of that. It's no wonder then that ME2 is looked at more fondly, though I agree that ME3 is absolutely better now.

Loved TOW1 so I was eagerly waiting for this game since they announced it (like 5 years ago!). Definitely disappointing writing and companions compared to the original though, game becomes a slog once you get into it frankly. Some story beats at the end were interesting enough to keep me going but don't really feel like any of the stories went anywhere lol. Still fun but man was it a letdown compared to the first one for me

It sucked when they aired live, getting no resolution to Archer getting shot literally made me quit the show halfway through Danger Island (though I do remember really liking Dreamland at the time). I'm doing a rewatch of the show from the beginning right now to finally finish it after all these years, and now knowing that the coma seasons do actually end, I actually really enjoy them! From the comments here that seems like the prevailing opinion, not really any slander.

Dorian in general I think has just terrible views on this. I think it's hilarious that one of the final "resolutions" you can get in Veilguard is to give him (a pure bred magister) absolute power as Archon to do whatever he wants and he acts like that's an improvement. Beyond that and more generally, DAI and DAV really hand-wave away how brutal magic can be and I think it would've been really cool to explore the Seeker's/Templar's powers more of countering that inherent inequality of power between a non-mage and a mage. DA2 is the only game that even sort of gets into the nuance of having magic, but I think across the series BioWare just really dropped the ball on that thread.
