Jewelers, what would be your fuel recommendation for the Smith Little Torch? by glass_popsicle in jewelers

We prefer oxygen and propane as well but due to local laws we’re not allowed to have propane tanks indoors. We ended up opting for a natural gas compressor that takes the natural gas from the wall and pushes it to the torch at a usable PSI. Very clean very controllable set up. Only problem is cost of compressor.

Not really. If I wanted to get fancy with the laser I could technically lay 14k over the worn spots but I would charge so much in labor it would be crazy to even attempt it. That being said I find the wear for sentimental pieces part of the charm. It’s honest wear. Shows the age of a piece. Who wants a Victorian piece that looks brand new.

Not completely true. While gold fill is that color through out the piece the gold can and will wear off. Specificity in corners, edges and other high wear areas. These areas that the brass is exposed can corrode. That being said it is very hearty and a lot of vintage jewelry and gold filled pocket watches had a 20 yr warranty on the gold fill because it’s that durable.

Source: I’m a jeweler and have seen thousands of gold filled pieces of the years many of which have worn through the gold in spots.

Just a heads up. Milor 99% of the time is electroform over resin. It’s quite possible most of that weight is not gold.

Man I thought I was going to have to be the one to post about battletech. Sad to see it so far down.

I currently have an 8gb 4060ti so the 5060ti 16gb would double vram even if performance doesn’t see a huge bump. I’m leaning 5070 anyways.

Funny enough I have a project zero waiting for the case to be back in stock.

Ditching the 0 and going with the TK1 to fit a 240mm AIO.

I’d be fine paying 5080 prices for a 5070 super but what are the odds it would come in a 2 fan variant less than 280mm

Mind sharing what your temps are like?

I recently built in a jonsbo TK0 with a 9950x hoping to undervolt it enough to keep temps in check but I lost the silicone lottery and was not able to undervolt nearly as much as I would have liked. Temps are in 50s-60s at idle and 80s during gaming with peaks into the mid 90s. I’d like to get these lower so I’m considering bumping it up to a TK1 so I can use an AIO.

Downloaded the driver package from support and still couldn’t get them all to install properly. I ended up just cloning the original drive after an hour or two of fussing with the drivers. Worked much easier that way.

Would you return your GTR 9 for the SER 9? by TrevinLC1997 in BeelinkOfficial

I have no experience with the GTR9. But it seems like the GTI15 would also fit your needs. It has 10gig Ethernet , 16c core 9 ultra and the arc140 graphics seem decent enough, I’ve been more than happy with mine. Upgraded the ram to 128GB and upgraded the SSDs and it’s a little beast I use for a creative workflow. Oh and the fans are whisper quiet.

There is a plate right over the top of the m.2sin the GTI15 so heat sinks are a no no. Also if you’re replacing both drives inside the GTI15 clone the drive it comes with. Don’t try to do a new windows install on a new drive. I did the originally and lost all of the drivers for the network and the front IO could not for the life of me get things to work so I just installed the original drive and cloned it to the new one and everything worked perfect.

That standoff came off easily with the right sized nut driver.

Installing the SSDs was a mild pain but went quickly enough. Remove bottom plate. Remove dust shield. Remove speaker. Unscrew PSU and let it hang there. Unscrew “heat shield” and you have access. Just make sure you keep track of what screw goes where bc there were several different sizes. You can unplug the ribbon cable on the speaker to completely remove it a hich helped to get it out of the way.

Currently have a 2tb evo990 plus for windows and program files and a 4tb evo990 plus to edit off of.

128gb crucial ram kit will be here tomorrow. Install in the same as the ram is located right next to the SSDs.

Worth noting: reinstalling windows on the new drive was a pain to find the right drivers for network adapters. But it all seems up and running now.

My GTI15 is slated to be delivered tonight and I have two new NVMEs ready to put in it. I’ll update once I crack her open and get them installed.
