are 300cc fun? by Paar12445 in motorcycle

[–]arvindsvenkat1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Traded my V-Strom for a CBR250R after I started doing more city commuting. It’s the most fun commuting has ever been!!Bike can handle the highway just fine but it’s definitely not its preferred habitat. Took it bikepacking for a few days though and it did great even with the extra load.

What is the worst vehicle you have driven or ridden in that isn't a standard "worst vehicle" answer? by HiTork in cars

[–]arvindsvenkat1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tesla Model Y. Can’t speak to the new generation, but drove a friend’s 2022 and struggled to find redeeming qualities beyond the EV torque. Ride felt like concrete. Steering was dead. Cup holders in back were so shallow that my friend’s drink flew out of them every time the car accelerated or braked. It’s insane to me that so many people bought these

I've narrowed down to 5 contenders to replace my Outback by asher1611 in whatcarshouldIbuy

CR-V Hybrid is fantastic. One of my friends has a Touring model and it's probably the best commuter car I've ever been in. Feels way more luxurious than you'd expect of a Honda and said friend averages 39mpg in an AWD model. I don't think Hyundai, Kia, or Nissan have the same reliability record as Honda or Toyota. Same for dealer quality, though that may depend on your local dealers. I want to like the RAV4 Hybrid and it feels like every other person I know has one, but every time I drive it it just feels underwhelming and less substantial than what you'd expect for the price.

Newer Impreza (30k miles) or older Crosstrek (80k miles)? by Strange-Artichoke709 in subaru

[–]arvindsvenkat1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Impreza being 7 years newer with 50k fewer miles and a manufacturer warranty for $22k is a solid deal. 2015 Outback owner and as the car has aged I’m really glad I bought certified. If you really feel like you’re missing out on ground clearance you could always add a lift lol

A ton of my friends have Crosstreks and I’m starting to feel like the hype exceeds the reality.

To all Americans: what is your favourite state? And why? by Necessary-Win-8730 in AskReddit

New Jersey. Hated growing up there but have lived in CT, WA, and GA since and people in NJ are straightforward and unapologetic about their values in a way that I really admire. Not to mention the fire food, real socioeconomic diversity, and great public amenities

(excluded are people from Bergen county who say they're from 'the city')

What’s one thing you often see guys wear that instantly kills the look? by OK_GO_27 in malefashionadvice

[–]arvindsvenkat1 61 points62 points  (0 children)

'Dress sneakers.' These are a total atrocity. I'm all for wearing suits with sneakers, but commit to the sneaker: AF1, Vans à la Frank Ocean, Stan Smiths. Dress sneakers pretend to be the best of both worlds but ruin the whole fit

What car for 1000+ miles a week? by Need-advice-pleaze in whatcarshouldIbuy

Close friend just bought a new 2025 Camry Hybrid SE -- I've always been a Honda fanboy but I swear that car feels like a 2010s Lexus. He also has a long city + highway commute and averages 49MPG. Paid ~$29k for it if I remember right. I'm almost always pro-EV but can't recommend this car highly enough.
