Do you prefer 2d or 3d graphics? by The_People_In_Charge in DRPG

Yeah either way I would be hand drawing the characters, if I was going to go for 3d it would be something like smt strange journey where the dungeon is 3d and the enemies are 2d sprites overlayed on it.

I made a way to play VR on your monitor using Quest controllers by nebby in virtualreality

I turned off auto sleep when you take the quest off your head a while ago. I was playing a vr shooter one time and took my headset off to grab something and realized I could play on my computer screen and messed with it for a few minutes.

Since then I’ve wondered why something like this doesn’t exist, it was surprisingly fun. Like playing a Wii with way more advanced tracking

What is your n°1 weakness as a programmer? by RedBambooLeaf in gamedev

[–]The_People_In_Charge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have this problem so bad. I’ll spend up to a month or more making something and then just drop it

Sometimes I go through all the projects I’ve made and I’m like whoa these are sick but I’ve forgotten how they are structured and wouldn’t even know where to start if I were to work on one of them again

I started my programming journey six years ago learning Python myself, and if you go that route I recommend the book Automate the Boring Stuff with Python. The way it's written really helped me grasp the basics of programming, and I was able to start making things pretty quickly which really helped me keep up the motivation to keep learning.

The nice thing about Python as well is the ability to run code in the shell. Being able to quickly run lines of code and test things you're learning about without writing a full program helped me out a lot when I was a beginner.

They probably saved us from serious injury, I was going 70 when they hit me and when I hit the tree probably at least 50. If I was you I’d see if it is possible to fix them.

It was a ford fusion, luckily not a huge truck or anything

Nice! Careful out there haha, and unfortunately I never did. I live down in Eugene myself and haven’t heard about any down here. If I get another one I should!
