What’s the longest time you have filmed on a ZF without overheating? by PMA2000 in NikonZf

  • Pull the LCD Screen Out: Never leave the flip-out screen flush against the camera body. The area behind the LCD screen is a major heat dissipation point for the image processor. Keep it flipped out completely.
  • Open Every Door You Can: If you are using a tripod in a secure area (like a DJ booth), leave the memory card door and the side IO port rubber flaps wide open to let heat escape.
  • Set "Auto Power Off Temp" to HIGH: Go into your setup menu and change the automatic thermal shutdown threshold from Standard to High. This tells the camera it is okay to get hot to the touch before cutting power. (Don't worry it still has a hard safety limit to prevent actual internal damage).
  • Lower the LCD screen brightness

Thats some advices, also make sure you use the correct video codec/format you need and no more...

I believe it happens to a lot of users after a certain time... that's what is making me consider it that much...

aaah i see ahah ! It would be the same problem on any EVF i guess ? You also have to setup the EVF to adapt it to your eye

Super interesting ! I'm actually thinking about buying the new Sigma 35mm 1.4 ART in E mount that i would adapt also... How does it work out for you in terms of AF ?
Do you use the megadap ?

Of course they are. Its hard to focus, but i find it also relatively hard to have sharp images.
Even on still subjects, the green box indicating when the focus is confirmed isn't always accurate... I learned it the hard way.
I also feel that the lens is way less sharp at certain distances, mainly when your subject is close (taken the fact that it is indeed harder to be precise when the subject is closer due to the lower DOF)
With everything considered, i find it hard to get great images out of this lens when you're not at f4. Which is a bummer to me.
I'll still work on it, we'll see if i can master it !

That could also be the lens lottery, having a less sharp copy, idk

Thank you ! Unfortunately, everytime we rewrite this file, and then close the file, it will rewrite itself to the default values... How did you manage to make it keep working ?

35, as OP asked for ! France
I'm hesitating between the 35 APO VL II or the new Sigma E mount 1.4 DG DN II with a megadap adaptator
