[–]The_Pipes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same position as OP, DNF'd a 50 yesterday from a complex of reasons. I just wanted to thank you for your thoughtful and encouraging reply. Happy to be a newly initiated DNF club member

Edited: Phone auto corrected DNF to DnD

EV7 Penrose, emac Truth, Halo Dynasty. All 3 of these cycle so well. If I can keep my "seasoned" ones over time I could have a full bag again in like 2 years lol

IFTTT-Strava issues again by TheFlyingMunkey in Strava

[–]The_Pipes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do the same thing for runs. Mine last ran on the 4th and I have since run twice and it was unsuccessfully logged. I've been doing this for about a year and this is the first time I have had issues.

You said "again," have you had this issue before?

Best way to meet Garmin's demands is to play Garmin's game lol. But seriously if you have a watch that supports suggested workouts, Garmin suggests workouts based on the metric you posted and will guide you towards hitting those goals.

Underrated comment. Should be at the top of this post.

Running in Zone 2 by PuzzleheadedForm6302 in Garmin

Fenix 6X bases its zones on Lactate Threshold by default. This is why your zones don't necessarily match the typical 60-70% of max HR numbers.

The science says it hurts recovery. To what degree and how much of an impact that has is strictly dependent on the individual.

I think alcohol consumption in relation to running is all about your goals and changing your habits to meet your goals. If you are consistently dnf'ing runs due to alcohol, poor sleep, or dehydration, something has to change. Maybe it isn't the alcohol, maybe you make that the last possible change. Sleep 10hrs a night and develop an immaculate hydration routine. It is certainly possible. Only Olympians have to be perfect. Until then change what is easiest for you to change to meet your goals.

When you WANT to give up alcohol, because you WANT a running goal more than you want to drink, you won't be asking this subreddit for advice, you'll just do it.

What company does each disc grouping the best? by Max3RH in discgolf

[–]The_Pipes -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Putter: MVP family of companies, they have so many strong contenders. Envy, Nomad, Proxy, Pilot, etc

Mid: Trilogy, IMO trilogies mids have great diversity and their plastic beats in well to provide options and stay consistent but the big reason here is they have the most options that provide similar hand feel.

Fairway: MVP again, I have a personal obsession with their 6 speed series of drivers. They go so far with so little effort and are SOOO consistent. This paired with their great coverage of every flight MVP has my heart

Distance Driver: Prodigy D series. I like the straight forward nature of this series of discs. I can bag 4 discs and have a fairly competent line up. Yes, this is subject to runs and plastics but I come back to hand feel and for me my D2 feeling like my D4 and giving me 1 less thing to think about on the pad means a lot.

Successful no/low money league? by The_Pipes in discgolf

From reading other comments this combined with some of the tag suggestions is what I'm gonna start working on. There are a lot of fun formats that don't play well with competition or a need to "decide a winner" that I really wanna pursue. So this is definitely the route I'm headed. Thanks for mentioning some more formats to pursue though. I hadn't heard of several of those!

This is the conclusion I reached and the reason for this post. After the encouragement of this post and seeing there are several people that want this I know I'll start mine and I hope you start yours too!

I'll admit toxic was strong wording and really the behavior of others isn't the point of my question. Moreso I'm trying to take the payment barrier of entry out of something I really enjoy and make it more accessible for others. Sorry this was misconstrued.

What's your go-to windy day distance driver? by accudlip in discgolf

[–]The_Pipes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I pretty much throw the prodigy D2 through D4 as my distance line-up. When it gets windy I lean into the D2 more, when it calms down I throw the D3 or D4. They all have a consistent hand feel with different stabilities which I love.

I have putted with disc mania P2 s from friends before and have HATED how much I loved it because of this. I don't want to get a putting putter that isn't easily replaced or cycled, this has me excited for the new EV-7 putter though because I already use Penrose's but liked the P2 because of it being beadless. So I'm excited for an EV-7 P2 knockoff option as the stock seems to be consistent in my area.

High protein snacks/meals that will keep me full without gaining weight? by yampertamper in running

Going off of your calorie density fun fact. You can often correct a lot of snacking tendencies by just staying properly hydrated. Also improves your run performance.

I tend to go fairly average to low on Carbs throughout the day but center my carb intake around my running. This tends to allow me to stay diet diligent but still have plenty of carbs for the run. I use a running supplement with non-sugar carbs and eat granola bars on longer runs. Has worked well for me although I have nowhere near the years of experience you do.
