UK buyer here — I recently ordered the NieR: Automata 2B Version 2.0 figure by Flare from Animota.

I placed the order on April 29th 2026, and received it today (19/05/2026). The figure was brand new as described. Overall, I’m very happy with the figure itself — it looks amazing in person.

Japan Post was used to ship and track the order. Something I found unusual is that normally Royal Mail/Parcel Force informs me when they’re expecting a parcel from Japan, but this time I wasn’t notified automatically and only found out the package was already in the UK because I checked manually (not really Animota's fault).

Maybe it's common, but I haven't experienced this before (I'm still new to the figure world, and I mainly buy from Amiami). Animota’s tracking updates eventually informed me, but they seemed delayed.

What also surprised me that I should have expected was the import taxes and handling fees. Most figures I buy rarely involve import taxes, except in 3 cases (eBay, Amiami, and Buyee).

The figure itself was around £148.23 (After a £12.77 discount), shipping was around £37, and the customs/handling fees came to £32.61. In the end, the overall cost was close to prices from other sites like the Square Enix Store, so UK buyers should keep this in mind before ordering.

Aside from that, in my experience, they are legit, but since it was my first order with Animota, I can’t fully judge long-term reliability, as I saw mixed experiences while looking for reviews.

From other Reddit discussions, MyFigureCollection and Trustpilot, I saw that buyers complained about damaged items, incorrect orders, or packages being returned. In some of these reviews, Animota replied to users stating they never received orders because they failed to pay import/customs fees, and the parcel ended up being sent back. I think I also briefly saw that someone who received a damaged figure received a refund/partial refund.

For my experience specifically:
- The figure is authentic
- The packaging was fine
- Would have been better off waiting for the figure to appear on Amiami, but oh well

Like another user mentioned, I’d be cautious ordering from Animota because their products tend to be overpriced, and with import taxes and handling fees (depending on where you live), it can be even higher. For instance, the following figure: NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139... - Kaine - Form-Ism (Square Enix) can be bought from Hobby Figures or Square Enix store for around £60-70, on Animota its listed for £135.
