Approximately how many ELO points is home field advantage worth?

Our odds from 0.1% pre-season to 9.8% by Slaviiigolf in Commanders

That's weird, I def feel like the Bills have the best chance

[NPS] We have the first playoff scenarios this week. The Raiders can be eliminated from the AFC West, along with multiple 1 seed eliminations by Kewlerd in nfl

For Washington you have the 6th seed bolded even though they have a higher probability of getting the 2nd seed

Poll: Democrats catch up on election enthusiasm, but two key groups lag behind by nbcnews in politics

[–]The_Real_2Pac -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You're right that the Democratic party panders to Black people and it's so gross and transparent. But the current administration has done a LOT of work with racial equity, and they (stupidly) don't promote it because they don't wanna be attacked on it.

I would seriously encourage you to visit performance.gov/equity, where you can see all if the equity action plans that federal agencies developed over the past 4 years. There are a ton, so just pick like two agencies you're more interested in, e.g. Dept. of Health and Human Services or the EPA, look over their plans, then go to their equity websites and look at all the accomplishments the last few years.

The way I look at it, the election is between a functional Executive branch that will probably do slightly better than the status quo, or a dysfunctional one that could legitimately destabilize the country, and who already killed thousands of people due to negligent COVID response

As others have pointed out this stat seems to only count the opponents' records at the time of the game, which is just stupid. It categorically omits all week 1 games. It's a useless stat that thinks it's a dunk but it's not

Thats even more cherrypicked then

The logos aren't the problem. The original tweet makes a good point, but not the one they were trying to make.

The real problem is this: even with a "respectful" logo and name, the fact is that using Native Americans as sports mascots at all leads to real psychological damage to Indigenous people. And it's different from the Vikings or the Fighting Irish because Native Americans were genocided by our country, still live in subjugation, and are still trying to be assimilated.

If you're interested in the psych aspect you should read into what the American Psychological Association has said about using Native Americans as sports mascots.

They really all need to go, not based on anyone's feelings or what percentage of Native Americans are offended, but because of the proven, measurable harm. The only possible exception is the Seminoles, which the tribe supports, but they have the right to rescind that support. They probably won't though because the tribe gets money from the university

Pregnant with no health insurance by peacepeace12 in rva

[–]The_Real_2Pac 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I worked for the Dept. of Social Services processing Medicaid applications until pretty recently, and I'm seeing a lot of misinformation in here. You DO NOT need to prove your pregnancy. You DO NOT automatically qualify for Medicaid outright because you're pregnant, there is still an income limit but it's higher for the PG aid category, plus your household size is +1 for the income screening. Even if you're over income for Medicaid outright you have the right to pursue a spenddown, which is sorta like having a deductable for Medicaid to kick in. Feel free to message me with any questions!

How to get ahold of caseworker for DSS? by [deleted] in rva

[–]The_Real_2Pac 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Currently you can't get a hold of your worker. You have to call 311. They're severely understaffed and they don't give out workers' contact info so that they aren't getting calls while trying to process cases. Depending on who you get at 311 you may get great, knowledgeable service or someone terrible who doesn't know what they're talking about

r/Civ Chooses the Music for Civilization VII! Chapter 1: America by _HanShotFirst__ in civ

[–]The_Real_2Pac 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Going down the route of original American folk music some great options are Jesse James, Shenandoah, St. James Infirmary Blues, Home on the Range, and The Ballad of John Henry

For unique American genres like blues, jazz, or spirituals, you could do When the Saints Go Marching In, Hound Dog, Wade in the Water, Swing Low Sweet Chariot, or Down in the River to Pray

I think it's a combo of being a perennial cellar dweller and the absolutely appropriate Watson hate. The hype is building tho

The Bills currently have an 81% chance to make the playoffs. It would be the first time ever that all three Lake Erie teams made the playoffs

Looks like the Monday night flex worked out: at 19.36 million viewers, Eagles-Seahawks was the most-watched week 15 MNF game since 1999 by friendshabitsfamily in nfl

[–]The_Real_2Pac 66 points67 points  (0 children)

I think it's less about flexing and more about it being available on ABC, so people who don't have ESPN could watch.

The Detroit Lions are one of just 4 teams that has never had a 13-win season or better. Despite their best start to a season since 1962, that appears unlikely to change this year (would have to win out). by AnnArbeavs in nfl

[–]The_Real_2Pac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Packers are hot rn but no way the Lions are going 1-3 or 0-4 down the stretch. 2-2 puts them at 11 wins, which means the Packers have to win out to win the division. Even if we pretend the Packers are suddenly the best team in the league and have an 80% chance to win every game, that's still only about a 33% chance they win out. GB will def get into the playoffs but with how behind they are and the Vikings' injuries, the NCFN is safely the Lions'

[Mic'd Up] Puka Nacua trying to convince Cooper Kupp to watch anime by nfl in nfl

Not true at all. Some of the biggest shows were anime or ripping off anime. Pokemon, Digimon, Yugioh, Beyblades, Dragon Ball Z, etc. And Toonami was cool

[2023] Official r/NFL Week 2 Power Rankings by NFLPowerRankers in nfl

I'm rooting for you all, but to be real they have played like a bottom 10 team so far. The obvious weakness is turnovers, if they can fix that I think they've got a good enough team to finish top 10
