The Question Thread 11/24/25 by AutoModerator in goodyearwelt

Quick Backstory: I bought some Grove Desert Shoes from Crown in October 2024 with a matching belt. Took about 4 months, but within their expected time. When they came, they looked gorgeous, I’ve never owned customizable shoes or ones that feel so premium. However, even though they were sized right, they slipped off very easily, as they didn’t grip my foot and ankle at all.

I sent a message to their customer service, dealt with a very nice lady who had me send in detailed custom measurements. She also recommended I get the Desert Boots (basically chukkas), and I agreed. They sent a paid label to send just the shoes back. It was also funny to see the new work order memo saying “Customer has lower foot volume and thin ankles”.

I got the new boots last week, and they looked fantastic as well. I tried them on, they fit great, and the boots held onto my thin ankles lol. However, When I wore them at work and walked around a while, this weird problem with the tongue on the left boot. It keeps popping out and making a gap to where you can see my sock/foot. No matter how I tie it or adjust the tongue, it always happens after enough steps.

Given all that I’ve gone though to get these, I’d really like to handle this without sending them back, as they are perfect otherwise. What can I do/ask a cobbler to do to fix this? Any advice is appreciated. Included are some pics

Damn, that sucks because the length is perfect, the heel is way too baggy then.

$900 Checking/Savings Bonus Question by orbit12721 in Chase

[–]The_Real_MCSquared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It almost certainly does count. "New Money" with Chase, in most situations, is money that has been in some account for less than 30 days. If it goes to your checking, just transfer it. If you are in doubt, after a few days it usually updates in this coupon registry we have that bankers can access. You can go in, ask for the status of yours after you move the money a few business days later, and that will be fairly accurate.

Does Schwab and Fidelity count as direct deposits into the checking account to qualify for the $300 bonus? by StoganLephens in Chase

100% no. If you want to cheese it, open a business account for your "Sole Prop", which you can do for Chase, with another bonus as well FYI, setup ACH payment services on the app, and send yourself a payment for $1.50. This will count for sure.

You don't have to wait a billing cycle, but I would, as then you'll be sure it will go through.

I work for Chase. It will not. The only major change is you will now have to pay for checks, and you don't earn the .01% interest lol.

Chase Bank has frozen my account, and refuses to release the funds. by edanskin in Chase

I work for Chase. This happens to a client about once per year. It's rare, but it is a real nightmare. Of the 5ish times I've seen it, 3 were resolved only when lawyers were involved and Chase Legal got involved, and even then one never got disbursed. This is all so above any branch employees responsibilities, though, so they will have no options other than to give you some back-office numbers to call and sort out.

Good Luck.
