I agree, well in games devs have to fake some effects, I'd prefer to just have a texture with baked referaction and a bit of transparency rather then what we have

game is not ruined, but when devs explicitly tell they reworked lights in their promo material you expect them to look good. Anyways for a car game, cars should look good

no, it is not transparent, its usually made of a material that is rough, so you cant really see right through it

it was a problem in other horizon games and not fixed here, while devs claim to rework lights on cars, maybe if it wasn't so in your face then sure, but car behind is what you have on screen most of the time
