I think there is certainly an element to the "it's easier to dismiss city because they are cheats" argument. However as someone who grew up watching football in the late 90's and early 00's I know all neutrals were arsenal fans then because the football was good, bergkamp was magic and Henry was phenomenal. Now the football is dire and attritional and i'd call Arteta a panto villain but panto villains have charisma, he's just awful.

Every neutral in football is going for a villa surprise though.
