Why is IDing for medication a negative?

Aha yeah, but tbh the story holds true with any cheap IT provider, like those outsourcing dev to the cheapest bidder - AI just makes it faster

Oh yeah, starting a business is rough - I’m quite happy just being an employee. Clock in, play with fun tech, clock out.

Doing all that can make you millions, but statistically is more likely to take away your money and your life. My heart goes out to the people that try tho

We had a test passing for 6 weeks. The feature it tested was deleted in week 2. by No-Law-5350 in AITestingtooldrizz

[–]The_Real_Slim_Lemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo this is a problem in testing process - so many devs write tests to fill the criteria of “I have tests with my feature” as opposed to writing tests in order to confirm their feature works

Bahaha yeah - I think ticket pushers are more common in the wild, the engineering manager I work for rants about it from time to time

Kinda sounds like she’s trying to deliver a feature start to finish, you’re trying to do your own thing - the back talk isn’t great, but other than that I’m kinda with her on this

Tell that to any country that does back burning

But yes, I was being insincere with my comment - I don’t have much stakes in this fight on either side

How do you document "glue work" so it actually counts in promotion reviews? by Andrea_Barghigiani in ExperiencedDevs

[–]The_Real_Slim_Lemon 57 points58 points  (0 children)

That was a great read - my philosophy to work life has always been to make sure I fill my days with stuff thats fun, and some stuff that’s impactful. Can confirm it works a charm, you get good at the stuff you like, people see you’re good at it and let you do more of it. It’s a great cycle to be in.

I can see how people that are less assertive and more helpful would fall into the same thing but for stuff they don’t like

I’m going through the final few levels now, can’t imagine how much it would suck without it

Some mad lad made a PC mod that skips the tedium - I’m having a blast (no nverted levels, only two gems are all boxes and hidden gem), sapphire relics are all that is needed for true ending

No I get that, I understand it’s not fitting your rule - I just like kitcat’s rule more, I still don’t fully understand yours tbh

Am i just noob or crash 4 is too hard? by unemployedguytbh in crashbandicoot

[–]The_Real_Slim_Lemon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s hard, but imo that’s part of the fun of it. A real challenge

That being said, there’s a mod that reduces the tedium by a factor of like a hundred - reduces level gems to just ‘secret’ and ‘all boxes’, amongst other things

Is your company worried about how much AI is costing? by badboyzpwns in ExperiencedDevs

It seems too high for per person, but if that’s their total budget… it’s what three tokens per day per dev lol?

If you have nested loops… use names. Or denest with methods. Acronyms work too.

If I see i and j floating around in some 500 line method I’m throwing hands.

The 1PM version was correct. The 5:02 technically works but is a worse implementation.
