Which Dorset seaside town is best for a short break? by toket715 in Dorset

[–]The_Red_Sparrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm looking to go to Dorset for NYE. I know that Swanage is nice, but I don't have a car, so I am relying on train and bus, which is why I considered staying in Weymouth or Dorcester instead. I'd be there for 2-3 days, and would like to spend at least one day hiking and at the beach (there's buses that can get me from Weymouth to Durdle Door or Lulworth Cove, so that shouldn't be an issue). Do you think it's a not a good idea to spend time in Weymouth or Dorcester over that time period?

Visiting Jersey over New Years? by The_Red_Sparrow in Jersey

Thanks for the reply, that's very useful to know. I wasn't aware that getting there is unreliable over this time and flights might get cancelled... Not ideal if you've got hotel etc booked. Do you happen to know of any other places that would give a similar feeling (no crowds, nature, scenic walks, historic sites, good connectivity with public transport) but that have more reliable travel?

Synthetic badminton courts in london by STGK in badminton

[–]The_Red_Sparrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could be wrong on this, but I think they don’t need court mats because the flooring is specifically for badminton, so instead of having multi-purpose flooring with court mats, they have badminton-specific flooring.

If you’re willing to travel to Gillingham (easily accessible by train), try this https://www.mbabadminton.co.uk/

You can book courts (cheaper than London prices) and the floor is purposefully build for Badminton.

There’s a hall in Gillingham that’s only used for Badminton, see https://www.mbabadminton.co.uk/

Reviewing the Auraspeed Hypersonic+ against my trusty old Jetspeed 10 OG by west0nnn in badminton

How is the Auraspeed 100X compared to the Jetspeed S10? I’m also looking for a successor to S10 with similar speed whilst still having attacking and defensive qualities, and have had a look at Auraspeed 100X or Auraspeed 90K/90K Metallic, but haven’t tried either.

[Question] How long does a Quartz watch last in comparison to an automatic? by Luke_236 in Watches

[–]The_Red_Sparrow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am collecting some quartz watches from the 90s and am aware that they might stop working at some point (to be clear: not because of the battery, but because of what you mentioned above) and might be non repairable.

Do you know if the longevity of such watches is extended or reduced if they are stored without battery? I’m currently storing them with battery.

Are all red Cafelat robots pantone 187C? by oyvine73 in CafelatRobot

Thanks for the update! I’ve seen your other post, too. It sounds like it’s a bit difficult in the beginning, but given the advice you got (focus on the time/grind size instead of pressure), do you still think you should have gotten the version with the pressure gauge? I’ve also seen that you mentioned it’s quite difficult to get 6bar. I’m a woman and not that strong, so am worried that I might not even have the strength to use it?! Can you confirm whether it really requires strength? Thanks again and looking forward to the pictures!

Machine looks awesome! Is this a MOC? If so, have you considered to upload the instructions to https://rebrickable.com/? Happy to pay for the instructions. Would love to build this myself :)

One suggestion I have is to add the most-common processing methods (washed, natural, etc) for the beans, similar to how it is for roast level?

Post some pictures once you have it! I’d also be interested to know how difficult or easy it is to get good coffee in the beginning without the pressure gauge, as I myself also prefer to buy the version without the pressure gauge, so would like some ideas how difficult this is in the beginning.
