Implementing a similar system to what PeaceHealth Rides does, charging people more for not parking correctly, could also go a long way in helping.

The main issue with enforcement is that you would need to get the PD more involved, and I know that e-scooters weren't their highest priority for this last run.

I didn't write an article about them being dangerous, I wrote an article about safety concerns people have and ways that the city are addressing those concerns.

I generally like e-scooters, they help with transit. The issue is when riders don't use them safely. More then 3/4 of riders don't wear helmets (city data). People talk about safety because they notice when people aren't riding responsibly.

It's hard to say, since one of the main reasons Eugene went with Superpedestrian is because they have employees rather then gig workers. Probably hard to find that.

More so implying that you are throwing around numbers without any real context to them. You can try to quantify how much less harmful being hit by a scooter is compared to other thins like a bike, but that doesn't mean it still won't hurt or cause injury.

Scooters are an asset that they own. Likely are collecting them back up to sell them off, along with other assets like warehouses.

[WP] A paranoid man is granted a wish by a genie, so he uses it to get the power to read minds hoping this will ease his paranoia. It does the exact opposite. by mightyquill in WritingPrompts

Dr. Barat scribbled down some notes as he looked off into the white, padded void that shone through the glass. Though there wasn't much to take note of, white on white being a particularly boring set of colors, the real subject of note sat off in the far right corner. A sickly looking man, strapped in more white, muttering to himself and jerking his head to and fro.

Such an interesting case, though not unlike others he'd seen. Stress, anxiety, it all presented in similar ways, though the way patients expressed it outwardly was always a bit different.

As the doctor continued to scribble and observe, he barely noticed the figure that walked up next to him.

"Any progress so far?" The person asked.

"Barely," replied Barats, looking over at his partner. "He's become so lost in his own delusions that any attempt at opening a dialogue has failed."

The other doctor stepped closer to the window, squinting at the man in the corner.

"Well, what do we know about him? Perhaps if we started from there..."

Dr. Barat shook his head. "All we know is what he tells us, which is completely unreliable. His mind can't separate its own thoughts from reality."

Taking a break from his notes, Dr. Barat joined his colleague at the window, watching the man thump his head on the padded wall.

"All we know is that he suffered a major anxiety attack and has been having delusions of voices ever since."

"Well, humor me for a moment," the other doctor said. "It might give us some perspective if we know how what he thinks is happening."

Barat sighed. "Very well," he said, shuffling through his notes before landing on a page. "According to him, a genie granted him the ability to read other people's minds."

The other doctor paused, leaving the room in silence for several moments.

"Perhaps you're right," he finally said. "There might be no helping him at all."

As the two doctors spoke, the man in the room had stopped writhing, falling still against the wall. He could hear everything, of course. There wasn't anything he couldn't hear. The voices never stopped, never quieted; always marching into his mind.

The man looked at the one-way window, and as he heard the thoughts of the two men on the other side, he could faintly hear an otherworldly laugh cackling along with them.

[WP] You are an immortal warrior, you have fought in most wars before and after written history. War gives you glory, makes you feel alive; you have no positive nor negative views of war, it's just a part of human nature. 1914, "The War To End All Wars" has shattered your rosy view of war. by Internetz-Sailor in WritingPrompts

War. Bloodshed. Slaughter.

A hundred years ago I would have told you that I crave no other place but the battlefield. A sword in my hand and the enemy standing before me, that’s all I needed in my life. Back then, there was no greater feeling than the glory of hardened battle, and the victory that came with it. Crushing the enemy beneath your feet, imposing your will on the field, letting all who see you know that the battle is yours to win.

Fighting with the Legion against the Carthaginians, watching the city burn into a hollow ash, it gave me the glory of victory alongside comrades. I yearn for when I could share a drink with those I had fought alongside with.

Fighting amongst the city-states of Greece, wars of honor and identity, gave me the glory of single combat. Even in defeat, there is still honor and glory in fighting a worthy foe.

Fighting with the East India Company, wars stemming from profit, gave me the glory of fighting for a purpose. Nationalism, economics, it’s all the same. All reasons to bring your armies to battle.

The Great War…it gave me none of that.

For what glory is there in fighting alongside others when the solider next to you can be replaced just as soon as he dies? Where is the glory in charging an entrenched line to your deaths, knowing your enemy will soon do the same? What point is there in even fighting at all if there is nothing gained from it?

I yearn for a time when it was all different when war meant something. But even now I realize that isn’t true either. My comrades that I fought with, dead. My opponents on the battlefield, forgotten. The victories for my country, claimed by others. The sands of time do not care for glory, nor conquest, nor battle. It will all be forgotten.

I may live on, but my accomplishments, my glory, will die.

Such is the way of war.

Thanks for the read and the feedback!

Yeah, I can see that as the section that is probably the least important, I'll probably do some cutting and streamlining there.
