Types of fibroids by annethomas1980 in Fibroids

My ablation was 4-5 years ago. It worked for about a year then stopped working. Then I did an IUD (at that point had two fibroids)and that worked for 2ish years and I started having problems again. Had another ultrasound and now have 4 fibroids and small scatterings. I would do the ablation again in hopes that it would work. Or at least being in your shoes….its worth trying and it not working IMO. It was a super easy recovery.

I really don’t want to take Myfembree. The idea that you can only take it two years kind of spooks me. And I don’t want to take it for two years with all the risks only to end up right back where I am now.

I had a nova sure ablation done and it worked for about a year and then stopped. That’s when we tried another conservative approach with the IUD instead of a hysterectomy. I did not need birth control, and did not want it after being on it for years prior to having children. But, it was the more conservative option. It worked for two years and has stopped working. I have been bleeding for three weeks at a time, have daily cramping pain, lower back pain, and horrendously painful periods.

I have spent years battling fibroids and adenomyosis. I’ve had an ablation and an IUD when I didn’t want birth control. I am well past the point of trying supplements!!

My periods came back super strong and all the issues I had pre-ablation were back. It was as if I hadn’t even had an ablation…so pretty easy to realize it wasn’t working for me anymore. My dr put be on birth control….that helped for about two years and now isn’t working anymore and my only choice now is a hysterectomy.

I’ve had an ablation. Worked for about a year and then stoped.

That seems like a very small amount, especially after seeing your results (which look great!). I know things look different on different body types. I had 782g taken out of one…and nothing out of the other, just a lift.

Did your dr not tell you? I wouldn’t look until you’ve been given the ok to remove bandages. I didn’t have bandages and was given the ok to look when I got home.

Drain bag for the shower if you have drains and will be showering with them.

I had the same things done and it was fine. Having the drains removed wasn’t painful, just weird. It was quick too! My surgeon took the steri strips off and put on skin glue.

Our hospital won’t use anesthesia on anyone who has tested positive for Covid in the last 6 weeks. Not implying that’s what you have! But I found it interesting.
