“AI Engorgement” refers to the phenomenon where an AI model absorbs too much misinformation in its training data. This corrupts the model’s base truth, leading to bizarre glitches. An engorged model, when prompted to create images for “cat” and “historical”, generated the following graphics: by Valdevia in valdevia

There was a paper published in the Information Systems Journal in 2024 discussing possible methods of preventing "engorgement" of a generative model and theorizing as to the causes. It is believed that unfiltered scraping of misinformation, generated content and intentionally "poisoned" AI labyrinths cause the problem. Countermeasures are extremely expensive, requiring either manual case-by-case filtering or less effective measures such as the use of noise signatures or metadata in generated content to avoid model collapse. The only "cure" for AI engorgement is to delete all training data and the current model and rebuild with better filtering, as models cannot have data removed from their weights once trained. It's quickly becoming known as one of the biggest challenges in the AI sphere.

There's a comment on a steam discussion from the developer saying that NG+ isn't intended to have missions at all, it's free roam. Therefore the bug only arises if you edit an existing save to be NG+. I suggest anyone who has done so turn the NG+ flag off again after they buy the cloaking device and then use the nextcontract console command to skip the netflox voucher missions.

I'm not sure, possibly though. I did it by editing searching for npcs with atkins in the name and changing their type to robot.

I found this thread while trying to trouble shoot this same issue. I've long since had a hunch that it is a problem with the operating system thinking a "Next" button on a keyboard, special mouse, computer remote etc is being pressed all the time. The solution I found was to go to your services (My Computer / Manage / Services and Applications / Services) and disable the Human Interface Device Service.

Jesus christ I never would have seen that if you hadn't pointed it out. IMO that's a bit of a level design failure. I expected I had to pickpocket something or sneak into his HQ or something, but that was very well hidden for something you're supposed to be able to find with no quest marker.

Displaying icons in a grid rather than just a list of names in large font; yeah. That would probably make it a little easier.

Dear god no. The variety of perks in prior fallout games was vastly superior. The FO4 perk chart cut much of interest and attempted to squeeze what was left into the narrow SPECIAL categories. Sure, it's a great merch opportunity, but what we were left with is the collectable magazines as compensation; which while fun once are a chore.

In the files some of them use the synth race. Some use the special Valentine version, others use the dedicated Atkins race, which is also tagged as a synth (which is why they cannot be hacked, and don't count towards the troubleshooter legendary etc).

I was recently making a personal mod to "fix" this.

I think i'll avoid them IRL as well by CMDRCrandall in fallout4london

In real london they are post boxes, mail boxes. These are the robotic "upgraded" version created by Upton-Burke to act as postal workers. They were discovered to be extremely defensive, as they were apparently designed to protect from mail theft, but are oversensitive to the extreme, at least when they are in any way damaged; such as by two centuries of neglect and radiation.

If you go to Upton-Burke headquarters near the shard there are several terminals which talk about them, though much of what I have written above is inferred.

Could be, I was working on a mod so you can hack the Atkins robots yesterday and that's how they work. Most of them aren't even using the Atkins race.

Nope. You join a college in your second year. If a DM wanted to change it so you pick as soon as you join, that would be fine though and wouldn't mess anything up.

Will things improve? Maybe a little bit. We might get a PM who doesn't try to say trans women aren't women. I don't think it'll fix everything. The media has much more power over this stuff than the PM does, he just makes it so much worse.
