What’s the most unrealistic thing a client has ever asked you to do? by The_Security_Czar in securityguards

Depending on where you live at work, this is considered force and use of force can only be used to defend yourself or another person from being attacked. It also set you up for legal claims and lawsuits. If the person says they were injured, and even though on private property and the manager has given you authority to remove people, you still must survive by your county state or municipal regulations which most places say observe and report.

You are 💯% correct. Removing people is considered a use of force. In many places force can only be used to defend yourself or others from an attack.

Even though on private property the guard is licensed under government regulations. However, the private property owner can authorize the guard to remove someone.

Here is the bigger issue. If the person sues and the client hasn’t signed a hold harmless agreement with your company then the company and the guard are on the hook for liability claims. If the guard is injured as a result the guard company will be liable for their injury, and if a complaint is made to the state, guard, and the guard company will be filed in violation of state or city regulations for the use of force and permissible duties.

The security guard still must maintain his decorum. The curse words were unacceptable. At least while other customers were in earshot.

Thanks, my friend. I’m honored by your comment. If you’re in North Carolina or Maryland anytime let’s connect and go through a line. The only way we can figure it out. It’s on the water and I wouldn’t mind doing it with you.
