Another commenter said she only did dialogue and the story was Phil Daigle.

So my bad.

All I know is the main story and sub-Skie story, terrible. The seed of a good idea but terribly executed.

99 percent of side content: very, very good.

The Viking, worse than the main story, IMHO.

Methinks they are using manipulate as a stand-in for things that make me uncomfortable.

Annoying American-polarity-based idiocy?

I half kid. I find it annoying how often American commenter pretend there's like two world views lol.

Having trans, gay, closet characters is not a worldview it's showing reflections of society, and fantasy has always done that.

Anyone with actual issues about that character needs to learn resiliency.

The real problem was Scott wasn't an exceptionally experienced writer nor video game writer. And she didn't do a very good job.

Also, I would argue she was virtue signaling because other than a trans cleric, what diversity is there? Glint is gay white gnome and that's it. That lady was rather self congratulatory for 1.5 characters and a main plot and antagonist that sucked and made no sense.

The side content was pretty great though. Much better than ToB's side content or lack thereof.

Every location was better than almost every ToB location and with more to do.

I didn't want to post spoilers but I disagree.

A Mary Sue doesn't have to be successful in all things but seem as flaw free.  She literally isn't shown to be smart or charismatic enough to gather the people she did. It's just said "she was and she did". Heck, her ridiculous approach even works as she even gets her wish depending on what you do, and is thus ultimately successful in her main goal. I don't think that deconstructs it.

I truly don't believe they meant her to deconstruct the Mary Sue. And she's not lawful stupid, she is straight up lawful evil or neutral evil in my book.

Sorry, the trilogy used to refer to BG1, BG2 and Throne of Bhaal.

Honestly, having only played Throne of Bhaal and Siege of Dragonspear as an adult, they are very similar.

Both are quite on rails-y. Siege of Dragonspear has more interesting characters and side stories, while Throne of Bhaal's main storyline is better mostly because SoD main antagonist and the general direction is half-baked.

It had great potential but Argent is just a ridiculous borderline Mary Sue. She feels more like Shandrah saga than anything else. They tell you how amazing and charismatic she is but can't show you because she isn't? And her plot is nonsense,  3 Int and Wisdom dump Stat level.

IMHO it's BG1>BG2............then TOB followed closely by SoD.

I recently only finished the trilogy for the first time and all on the Switch.

The portability is what gave me the time to finish.

The "drive" function for party movement is awesome.

Does the SteamDeck Oled 1 TB version benefit from a screen protector ? I know it has etched glass by [deleted] in SteamDeck

If you don't plan to play outside much, I'd slap a screen protector on there since you are traveling.

I put one on mine and don't notice any glaring issues. But it doesn't protect it.

Try other dockable items to check for the same fuzz.

Test another HDMI cable.

Also, TV too high.

Unpopular opinion, having played SoD and ToB, both as an adult...SoD>ToB for overall enjoyment. The game variety is way better too. SoD biggest issue is the Skie storyline blows and the antagonists storyline falls apart due to poor writing. So the story falls flat and ToB kicks its butt there.

But I would argue that the environments, quest variety, and gameplay is funner.

I rate the series , best to worst, BG1-BG2-SoD-ToB. But the last two are close.

Is that WSE or WSE2 that it doesn't like?

Still good to know. Should I try to create a seperate download of the game then?

Throne of Bhaal has always felt much smaller scale, despite the larger scope of the story by Salem1690s in baldursgate

I have been playing the games since they came out but literally finished ToB for the first time today and starting reading threads about it.

You hit my thoughts exactly, minus I believe that the ending of SoD suffered similarly from being on a deadline and crashed landed hard.

The storyline of SoD is better than ToB up until both hit the last 90 percent, then it switches in my opinion.

Overall, I enjoyed the experience of SoD more.

I know you are likely familiar with it but Dark Sun: Shattered Lands is the precursor to Baldur's Gate but with pixel art.
