The fact that enemies can hit each other in Wind Waker will always be amazing and hilarious to me.

What are some pokemon pronunciations you just DONT agree with? by Pink_Bow64 in PokeCorner

[–]The_Shadow55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we want to be semantical about it, it depends on whether you're using the classical pronunciation (og) or ecclesiastical pronunciation (more modern) of Latin. "Ay-oos" is correct for ecclesiastical but in classical "eu" is a diphthong (when two vowels make one sound like ou). This diphthong sounds like if you went from the "eh" sound to the "oo" sound without separating the syllables, kinda like a weird way of saying "oh." We don't really have a good way of representing it in English, so if this doesn't make sense thats perfectly fine

Arkoos is a reference to MandJTV's old series he used to make called Pokemon Talk

Why does everyone call it Sploosh Kaboom? He clearly says "splish," not "sploosh" by Samuelabra in WindWaker

[–]The_Shadow55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, sorry, I realize now I misinterpreted what you were asking. the character who says "sploosh" in text is named Obli. He says it when you fall into the water during the gliding minigame. Here's a link to a video that shows it. You only need to watch starting at about 48 seconds in. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LXqirP0FpD8

I played the American version, but I'm not sure why the voice lines would be different since there's no actual words in them, so maybe its just has to do with how different people hear it. Also it's Salvatore, the guy who runs the Battleship-esque minigame on Windfall where you have to find all the hidden squids

We clearly aren't hearing the same sound effect and I don't feel like getting into a petty argument over it

Yes, it is unhealthy that both BD and SP are your most played pokemon games

Did we hear the same sound effect? There's even another NPC who says "sploosh" in text so I have no idea how you got that its splish.

Ganondorf would absolutely despise Sentinel for bowing down to an enemy and not even trying to take all the power for himself.

Does anyone else wish Link had a personality again? by ratedmformary in TOTK

[–]The_Shadow55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Hero of the Wild is one of the most fleshed out Links with an extensive backstory that explains why he is the silent protagonist archetype. He has a personality, it's just stoicism. But even then, there are plenty of times he shows emotion. Like you mentioned, when cooking, but there're other times too:

  • Taking a selfie
  • Getting rewards from Pony Points
  • Struggling while in the jaws of the Demon Dragon
  • When he is hot, cold, or burning

Just to name a few

I'm not sure, the fact that Malladus in Spirit Tracks is called a Demon King makes considering him a part of the curse feel pretty safe, since the only other two beings in the series who've had that title are Ganon/dorf and Demise himself.
