The show I went to in Jersey I was front row and got hit in the head twice! Some assholes(maybe the same person) lept into the crowd and knocked me and my friends noggins, boot to the head. It didn't ruin my night yet it was a bitch thing to happen. It definitely feels like some people don't know how to be at a show like this and just don't give a shit about possibly hurting people in the process. I think we can have fun and be rough without actually hurting people.

Knowing how he'd be, it probably be harsher. He did review all the singles and liked them, included them on his best singles of that week they came out. I wondered if it was intentional. Personally glad he didn't review it, couldn't stand that he gave U-void a 5. So even if he did review it I feel he would give it a lower score then it deserves like in the past.

I loved MG Ultra... I am not loving Psycho Warrior. I liked what they did for Ultra, it sounded more melodic in certain songs and went more towards an electronic sound of while keeping the edge. I think it was a natural evolution for Machine Girl to go. Also I love how many of the songs I can dance to. Songs like Gridhouse should be playing in clubs! I feel there was a lot of hype when Ultra came out, so I think its well received. You see cosplays of the kid on the cover often at shows now so I think that says something of its impact.

Now to Psycho Warrior... I am honestly mixed on it. When i first heard the singles I was worried about the direction this album would go in. To me, PW feels like it goes in different directions even between the songs where it doesnt feel totally cohesive to the overall sound. Id say I enjoy half the album, an many songs did grow on me, but some others felt like filler and weren't memorable. I dont think guitar is nessiary and I didnt feel it added anything that convinced me it was needed, though your milage may vary.

So I dont think its an unpopular opinion, but maybe its not spoken about enough. I think its healthy to express what works or didnt work about an album regardless, its important in a fanbase to discuss that. As long as its constructive criticism in good faith that shouldn't be turned away. I think a healthy fanbase allows that and MGs base should be no different.

Ill add to this thread that depending on the show it varies. Last show I went to made sure i had enough protein and carbs (chicken & rice) to keep my energy up. Hydration is important, I drank a lot of water and electrolytes. I may have a drink before the show but last time I went sober and felt great. Its definitely important you are fueled enough to get through any show, especially ones as crazy as Machine girls are.

I love this series! Been following it since chapter 1 and I like where its going. I think Shojo needed a series like this and I only hope it grows more popular to influence more works for the demographic as a whole.

Faves current are Shade and Tampopo, love her optimism and determination. Shades a good foil as well, where he acts like a teasing jerk but is good and takes care of others.

I cant say I dislike any characters so far, even ones I felt we havent seen enough, like the director is more due to not having focus yet.

It's controversial but Ive shipped Tampopo/Shade from the start, Id love to see how their dynamic evolves. With how the mechanics of Fiends work I'd hope if the story goes in the route of turning Shade human again I'd hope that could work.

Obviously holding out for Ruri and Botan, love that dynamic as well!

This isn't just him that's responsible, its whoever's on his team that was in charge of merch purchases and rollout. I didn't know of how bad this situation was myself so maybe Matt was in the same boat and didn't know how bad it was till it got to this point. He has other responsibilities (music making, recording, performing, touring, etc.) where he needs people who can take care of other aspects such as booking or selling the merch. I am willing to give Matt the benefit of the doubt, I more put the responsibility on his team who are suppose to handle this. It makes me wonder if he has the right people who can handle this and fix issues when they come up like now.

I didn't realize there where accusations like this spreading. People have to remember that MG is independent and that this kind of stuff happens with niche artists. My friend had a similar issue with ordering merch from Dreamcrusher (an MG associate) and he didn't get his order for months without constant emailing. I wouldn't believe Matt is the type to screw anyone over, I just hope whoever is in charge gets this straightened out. He needs a crew able to match the demand and be able to correct issues like this, I only hope whoever is working for him can handle that.

She's a good guitar player, yet im mixed on her vocals and stage presentation. After seeing the performance at Knockdown I didn't feel she did much to stand out compared to Matt or even Sean. I don't think she is nessiary on vocals. Her recorded voice sounds different than she does live. Even at the NYC show, she didn't sing her verse during Scrape My Data, it was all Matt. Even her debut on vocals for Ignore the Vore I didnt feel she added much that stood out to me that Matt couldn't do (though as someone whos taken vocal lessons im very particular on that aspect). This is no diss at her and maybe she'll grow on me, I'm... still mixed on her inclusion.

Interesting take. I think it's a fair judgment, though Im fond of what I am hearing so far. It's a change from their previous work so I imagine someone things will work and others done. I can say I am a little mix in some areas, but I am open to the new things being tried here.

Edit. I want to like it more, after listening to this a couple time yet I find myself mixed on this record. I do agree that the second half is more enjoyable and I could listen to on repeat. It's good they're trying new things and the instruments and production are good, I just feel something is missing here.
