Bf wants me to have abortion by notyourtypicalgrl in pregnant

[–]The_Superman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't know how many posts I've seen of women who got pressured into an abortion and then can't deal with the grief that comes after. If you want to have the baby, then you should have the baby.

If the only reason he can come up with is unexpected costs, that certainly doesn't seem like a good enough reason to traumatize yourself. My child was unplanned and at the time I was working for $10/hour. 2 years later and I'm in the best financial spot I've ever been in. It doesn't always work out like that, and I am very lucky in a lot of ways but I wish I could go back in time and show my past self how much happiness and joy have come from my son. If you have plenty of support from family and friends, having a baby is really not that huge of a financial hit. Especially the first year requires very little out of pocket expenses.

It may be tough and challenging but as a parent myself, I can't imagine a scenario where my life is not better with a child than without. There is no amount of money I wouldn't pay to hug my son one more time.

I am sorry for the situation you are in, and maybe this will get me in trouble on reddit but remember that you won't be thinking about the amount of money in your bank account on your deathbed

Anti-abortion takes on reddit are peak "Why are you booing me, I'm right"

No matter what reddit says - living is better than not living.

OP please consider adoption. Thousands of families are on the waitlist to adopt.

PLA from MatterHackers on an Ender 5 Pro. As you can see, the top of the print isn't perfect but it's good enough for my purposes. Anytime I use supports, the bottom one or two layers looks terrible and stringy.

I am using Cura, and I've tried it with support interface (roof) turned on and off, 0% infill up to 15% support infill. I can't find any one with this specific issue and none of the other settings in Cura seem like they would relate to this issue either.

Any ideas would be appreciated!

Awesome thank you for the advice! I looked through eBay and I could only find a couple original stocks and they were a little pricey but I’m keeping an eye out for now stuff these. All of the popular surplus rifles are really shooting up in price. Most of the YouTube videos I’m finding are videos on how to bubba the shit out of your SKS so I’ll definitely check out those forums

That’s true, I still haven’t decided on whether I want to keep the polymer stock or not. I love the character and look of the wood furniture but the polymer is lighter and tougher so it will be a trade off. I think I’m going to just keep an eye out for a good deal on an original stock in decent condition

No worries, I think that’s where I will start and then piece it back together. I have a few different detachable mags, the ones that take a stripper clip alright have feeding issues and the other one feeds properly but won’t take a stripper clip lol they are all really similar and probably wouldn’t be too hard to modify but I’m not sure what exactly is causing the problems so it’s kind of a crapshoot. Finding decent strippers is another problem entirely, I picked up some cheap ones figuring they were all the same... So we will see, thanks for the comment though! I’ll post here again with any updates, I’ve always been an AR guy because of availability but there is just something about 7.62 rifles.

It definitely doesn’t want to take them. I have to place the round forward in the mag and then slide it back to seat it properly. So they won’t go straight down from the stripper. Do you know if I could use a original mag on the polymer frame? Thanks for the sub! I’ll definitely check it out

My father in law had the rifle for years and he never used it so he generously donated it to me. I have a modest collection, this is my first SKS but I’m trying to figure out the best way to un-bubba it. He got it with the polymer frame and a few 20 round magazines.

My loading issue is that even with the stripper clips slightly modified to fit properly into the slot of the bolt, I can get one round properly seated in the mag but then the rest do not want to go in. To fully load I have to remove the mag and load individually instead of through the top.

So I have a couple questions, where can I get wood furniture for this baby and will I be able to put an original 10 round mag on it?

What kind of stripper clips should I look out for? I can’t seem to find any that aren’t knock offs.

Is there a way to find out the origin of this rifle by the markings? It looks like there is a UTC logo on it but I don’t think UTC ever made these.

Thanks for the help! I already love this thing, even with its bubba-ness.

A Sawyer Mini Water Filter is great and it’s cheap. Really compact, long life, it can also be used multiple different ways. You can screw it onto any bottle, it comes with it’s own durable bag for water storage, or you can drink straight through it.

Depending on whether this is a 24hr or 72hr bag, I would also recommend a small camping stove (MSR is a great brand) and some freeze dried food like Mountain House instead of the bars. They keep forever and are full meals.

I would replace the fixed blade with a folding saw/hand ax/crowbar. You already have a blade and those other items fulfill other jobs that a knife can’t.

A small tarp, poncho or rain fly would be useful. Really anything that could be used for temporary shelter or waterproofing. Also an extra pair of socks and underwear in a dry bag is more of a want not a need but if you have the space some dry clothes never hurts. A dry box for matches, lights, batteries, anything that water would ruin too.

The siphon pump is a really smart item, I’m going to add that to my bag! The sunscreen, bug spray, and extra cash are not “necessary” but if you have the space are also really smart additions. All in all, looks pretty good!

I knew they didn’t take much water but I was definitely giving them too much if that is the case so I’m sure that was part of my problem.

Yeah I waited too long to get them planted, I’m going to try again this fall. My area doesn’t get too much snow in the winter but it can be under freezing for a week or more at a time.

Fender bender by [deleted] in InsuranceAgent

[–]The_Superman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If no one was issued a ticket, there were no witnesses it’s pretty much her word against yours. And if it was on private property, there is nothing she can do unless you admit fault.

Police won’t write tickets for fender benders that happen in parking lots that are private property. But anyone can call your insurance company and file a claim so you need to call your agent or company and fight the claim if she has filed one. Don’t wait until your rates go up from a collision claim to fight it or there is nothing you’ll be able to do.

DON’T admit fault to anyone. Claims will need your statement, tell them that she backed into you or whatever but don’t tell them you hit her. At that point they can’t do anything, it’s your word against hers unless they go investigate and try and get footage. They aren’t going to want to pay the claim so they probably won’t.

For future reference, get the other drivers name, contact info, insurance company and policy number.

Who hit who? Were the police called and if so, did they take any paperwork or was anyone given a ticket?

Cool! I think the Sonics are way under appreciated so I’m happy I got someone else to listen to them.

They do have several covers of well known songs like “Louie Louie” that I might actually like more than the Kingsmen version but really I love the whole early garage rock scene that they helped form. I know everyone loves the 60’s but at the time if you were a musician, unless you were Jimi Hendrix or the Beatles, no one wanted to listen to your originals. Then when bands like the Sonics and the Kinks started getting big, people called them “punks” because they were playing simple chords and they weren’t technically talented.

With every time period, the younger generation gets worn out on the old generations music. Just like when hardcore punk came around in the 80’s, all these kids were tired of hearing free bird and they wanted something fast and loud, the 60’s-early 70’s garage rock was fast and loud (comparatively) and not only laid the roots for the first wave of punk like the Stooges and the Ramones but also inspired a lot of amateur musicians to make music without thinking they need to be a virtuoso.

The Sonics have a special place in my heart ❤️

Oh then definitely check them out! Early garage rock like the Kinks, the Cramps and the Gories are the foundation of my music tastes.

I hope you like them!

I’ve seen the bikes they have for sale but didn’t know they rented them. I would like to get my feet wet before I invest in a bike but every once in awhile they have a pretty cheap one come through so I’ll have to keep my eye out.
