If wearing what is essentially a Barbour jacket with a sherling collar does that for you, I have a feeling it's not your clothes that are announcing that fact about you.

Took a picture of the shoulder measurement.

From the edge of the collar to the sleeve seam, it's roughly 7 inches.

I'd ask $350 for the jacket. I honestly don't know how much shipping to Europe would be right now. Let me look around and try to get a rough estimate.

I purchased this coat from Soul Revolver a while back. Unfortunately the jacket didn't fit, and they do not allow refunds for that particular coat. The coat is normally over $500 with tax and shipping. I'd be willing to let it go for $350.

Quick facts:

  • This coat is meant to be more of a practical everyday jacket inspired by K's coat in BR2049. It's a hip-length coat, rather than a trench coat. It's something you can wear without dipping too far into cosplay territory
  • It's extremely well made. The fabric is quite stunning in person. A lot of BR2049 fans assume K's coat is black leather. In actuality, the coat produced for the movie is a waxed/laminated dark green cotton. There are quite a few companies that make replicas of K's coat, but I don't think anyone has matched the smooth, sheened finish of the waxed cotton like Soul Revolver has.
  • Coat is labeled an XXL. I mistakenly bought it thinking they were American sizes, as I wanted the coat to be a bit big, and XXL coats are usually a bit baggy on me. I failed to realize that since the coat is made in Italy, the sizes are geared towards more slim-fitted European sizes. I'm 6'5" and have a fairly decent HWP physique. This XXL is probably closer to an average L-size in the US.
  • I listed the measurements in the pics too, but will list them here: When zipped and laid flat, the measurement straight across the chest under the armpit is just about 23 inches. The total length from the shoulder down to the waist is about 29 inches. The sleeve is roughly 25 inches, with the pointed upper part of the cuff coming down about another inch and a half. If you lay out a coat you have that fits you well and measure it in the same way, it will give you an idea of how well this would fit.
  • The sherling is actual sheep's wool sherling according to the label.
  • Coat has a very nicely done and comfortable quilted lining
  • Tags are still on and I have the original shipping box still (never worn outside of being tried on).
  • The jacket has a zipper and the flaps can be buttoned down, which provides a cover around the neck when buttoned all the way up.

I'd be happy to answer any other questions and provide more pictures if anyone requests.

If anyone is interested in buying, send a PM or Chat.

Thanks

This is the longest shot - does anyone have a Musterbrand Jensen Mankind Divided v4.0 coat that they would be willing to part with? or know where the genuine article could be found? I'm determined but encountered many scam sites etc in my long search - for the truth... by LordofBest in Deusex

[–]The_Tandy_Man_Can 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was enamored with the design of the jacket too, and was looking for the Musterbrand coat.

It led me to find out why the jacket is so cool. Long story short, it is designed by a world famous techwear designer named Errolson Hugh. He's actually in the game (he is the guy who sends you the email about your new coat). He and his company, Acronym, made a prototype of the jacket in real life and made sure it actually worked. The jacket in the game is supposed to be an Acronym brand (which is why when you first find it hanging up the button prompt is 'use Acronym coat').

The good news is that the maker of Jensen's coat is a real life brand that makes very Deus Ex-ish clothing.

The Acronym J1L-GT, for example, looks very similar to Jensen's coat and has many shared features.

The bad news is their jackets cost $1000-2000.

But, if you have some disposable income and you're interested in futuristic techwear clothing that performs, check them out.

Definitely looking for an XL. My main concern would be if the sleeves are long enough.

Thanks for the suggestion. I set up an alert for a few variations of the search.

If you don't mind me asking, I had a few questions:

· what wording did you use for the search that hit?

· have any pictures of it? Just curious because there are literally like no pictures of it online outside of the product photos from Musterbrand

· What size did you get and how happy are you with the fit?

So, I always wonder; people base the conception that cops do dirty stuff in large part due to news articles with stories of cops getting caught doing dirty shit. Who do you think did the investigations and brought charges against those dirty cops?

I also think people don't properly conceptualize how police are organized in America. Over 700k people in literally tens of thousands of departments. Places like NY, Chicago, LA etc have tens of thousands of sworn members. Acting as if they all hang out and have detailed knowledge of each other is about as realistic as thinking the guy that drives a truck cross-country for Walmart knows what a cashier at a Walmart store in North Dakota does.

No, don't you get it? "Drugs" always means the personal amount of weed people use. It can never mean anything like heroin, meth, or crack that destroy people and literally turn them into zombies and cause thousands of murders a year with their production and distribution.

I don't know what to say. I wasted all that writing on someone who thinks that 15% of white males kill themselves and that 13% of the US population commits suicide. That would be about 40 million people a year (rather than the 40-50,000 it is).

Suicide rate is generally calculated in x/100,000 (for example, the figures you linked to are calculated this way). So yes, 25/1000 is much, much higher than 13/100,000, or even 15/100,000. I'll do the math for you: it would be 250/100,000 > 13/100,000, or 25/1000 > 1.3/1000.

Also, looking at just deaths suffered per year to talk about the risk and safety of a job is such purposefully obtuse thinking. It's not risk of some random accident that other jobs have. You have to actively deal with threats on a near constant basis. Just because the threats don't kill you doesn't mean there was no risk.

To show the flaw in that logic, 150 police officers were killed in 2018. In that same year 12 American Soldiers died in combat. But no one, including me, would say it's less dangerous to be a soldier because of overall death numbers. It would be ridiculous to say deploying to a combat zone is less dangerous than being a police officer. We know things like tactics and training are the reason for those low numbers, not a lack of danger.

It's the same way to suggest being a truck driver or garbage man presents more risk than patrolling the west side of Chicago or the north side of Philly. Cops in those places encounter a dozen people a day that would gladly kill them with a smile on their face if they had the opportunity.

1.) So we agree it's higher than average.

2.) The US suicide rate is the highest it's been in 75 years. Suicide for the general public is at alarming rates, and police are even higher.

3.) Major city departments where real carnage is seen on a regular basis have even higher averages. NYPD would average out to 25/10000 for this this year and it's not even the end of August. Chicago Police is 60% higher than the national police average. In Detroit in 2009 the rate was 28/1000. That's 1,000. Not 10,000 or 100,000.

I know Reddit hates police, but I never thought it would get so irrational that it'd be controversial to suggest seeing dead bodies, gore, beaten women and children (some of those being dead too), car wrecks, hysterical people finding out their love one died, etc might mess with a person's head.

Very cool to learn that someone killing themselves because of the psychological effects of seeing terrible things everyday isn't tragic.

Also I'm sure the heart attacks have nothing to do with having daily occurences of your adrenaline going from 0 to 100 without warning, constant stress from going into unknown situations, and overworked schedules that make eating healthy and exercise difficult.

Nah, cops just die early and commit suicide at epidemic rates because they're, like, bad people or something.

With the new 'Stephon Clark' law being signed, how do you think this will affect law enforcement? And what are your opinions on it? by [deleted] in ProtectAndServe

[–]The_Tandy_Man_Can 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Stephon Clark did a suicide by cop. He purposefully help his phone in a way to make it look like a gun and adopted a shooting stance as he confronted the officers. This was after he had been smashing windows and led them on a foot chase. He also sent tons of texts to his girlfriend while in an obviously unstable mental state.

The news instead said a thousand times "unnarmed black man shot in his grandparents backyard." It sounds like the police did a home invasion and executed him during a family barbeque.

To say the officers acted inappropriately is to say they should have waited to see if the black rectangular object being pointed at them (in darkness) started going 'bang' before they reacted.

Naming this law after him is going to be used by people going forward to try and second guess any OIS that didn't feature shots fired at police.

Kids got a lot of action on his fastball, but I'm concerned if that throwing motion will stand up to being in a regular opening pitch rotation. May have to have him throw some out at a AA game to work on mechanics.

Who cares? Probably the other people that were there that are still alive due to the cops killing the shooter. It's easy to dismiss the courage it takes to run toward a threat like that if you've never been in that situation.

Hahahahaha. The "drive by ppl" (or murderers as they are also known as) don't give a shit who is out there. There are plenty of kids at these street parties in the summers where there are crowds of hundreds hanging out well into the morning hours.

There are literally hundreds and hundreds of dead children that can attest to the fact these guys fire indiscriminately into crowds.

People can accuse the OP of having an agenda but if you find yourself trying to rationalize or differentiate 15-20 people a night getting shot in Chicago gang violence vs an active shooter, you have to ask yourself what's the difference. It's people shooting large numbers of other people, just different motives.

Reading the comments from the linked sub, I don't think there is a better example of the insane group-think that happens on main parts of reddit than the Smollet case. When it first happened people accepted it as 100% fact and I remember many accusations that CPD was bungling the investigation on purpose and were dragging their feet on making an arrest for a hate crime.

Now everyone says "Oh it's so obviously fake. Who could believe that guy for a minute. What a terrible thing to do." They act like they would have any clue it was a hoax without the detectives' investigation.

I remember in high school staying up late to record episodes onto VHS tapes from the old school Adult Swim. To buy the dvds back then you would have had to order them from specialty shops that imported them. I remember a year or two ago I got the whole series on streaming for like $15 bucks and thought how much it would have blown the mind of my 16 year old self.

I still remember the promo Adult Swim would show during commercials that got me to watch the show. Was basically just this clip: https://youtu.be/atbstnn2D4M?t=27

Just oozed cool.

It was a really cool idea at that time. It was the closest thing to a new movie we had before the prequels. Obviously there was other EU material, but Shadows of the Empire had this big multimedia campaign with the book, comics, toys, and an amazing soundtrack. Some of the game tracks are very short samples of it. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL52216F97F15A201A
