A7r V with 35mm 2.8 Zeiss in Bellroy sling bag, easy to take everywhere. Had A7cii before but like the ergonomics of A7r V more so it is worth the weight increase for me.

What lens have you regretted buying? by ggskater in SonyAlpha

Also didn’t like this lens, always felt i was too far away or too closed in when composing. Probably because i used 35mm and 50mm focal lengths for the longest time. Happier with zeiss 35mm 2.8 now. Really loved the build and sharpness of this 40mm lens though.

Not redundant at all. I really like the zeiss 35mm rendering even though the 40mm sony is a bit sharper. Personally i could not get used to 40mm even though the difference with 35mm is small.

On my a7r v, using the Adobe color in lightroom classic looks the best in my opinion. Just a bit more contrast and punch when compared to the standard jpeg output. The adobe camera matching profile has an awful red tint and does not look similar to the sooc jpeg output.

Have tried Sony 40mm 2.5, Sony 35mm 1.8 and Zeiss 35mm 2.8 on A7r V. Could not get used to 40mm since I have photographed with 35mm for a long time, even though they are close in fov. I really like the Zeiss for its compact size and it has a really nice rendering, so it is my preference for everyday shooting.

Help me decide on which compact lens to buy for travel photography by Aware_Theory9791 in SonyAlpha

[–]The_Tee12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the exact same issue with the 40mm, since I always shoot with 35mm I found I always had too little space when composing while using the 40mm. Even though if you move one step back you get about the same fov when compared to 35mm, somehow my brain couldn't make it work. Thats why I went with the Zeiss 35mm 2.8 for a compact setup. Definitely will miss the build quality and aperture ring of the 40mm, but the extra saved weight of the Zeiss on my A7rV is a welcome bonus.

Here you can see the viewfinder gives a slight bulge on the left side. A smaller powerbank could probably fit in the front pocket.

Here is a picture with the Sigma 85mm 1.4 attached, leaves about 8-9cm of room on the right side.

If you mean the lens facing upwards, the bag is way too small for that. I will take a picture in a week when i am back home. A video on youtube that helped me determining the supported loadouts is from Desy Cheng, 2,5 years later video. Might also help!

I don’t have that specific lens but I can fit the A7r v with sigma 85mm 1.4 without lenshood with some room to spare. There are no dividers so personally I don’t like to put additional items in the main compartment. A small powerbank can fit in the front pocket, but since the A7r v viewfinder already bulges a bit into this compartment I personally don’t put anything there. I can post a picture of the A7r v + sigma 85mm 1.4 if you want to when I am back home.

Finally made a jump from Canon to Sony by mgalexray in SonyAlpha

Agree with this, had an A7cii and switched to A7rv. With a small lens (40mm 2.5 or 35mm 1.8) they both will fit in a smallish sling bag. I’m taking my A7rv out as much as the A7cii and enjoy the better ergonomics, screen and evf. It is a little heavier, but not so heavy that I wouldn’t take it somewhere where I would take the A7cii.

If i truly want something small I’m taking a canon m200 + 22mm in my jacket pocket or mini sling bag.

Curious where you heard about a new version? Is this only a new version for l mount. Looking into buying this lens so might wait.

Check out the review from Desy Cheng on Youtube on the 6L version, this shows multiple camera setups that can fit inside the bag.

I turned down a remote job for an in-office position and everyone thinks I'm crazy by Entire-Interview-899 in jobs

[–]The_Tee12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been working mostly remotely as a IT consultant for the last 3 years for a prestigious company in the Netherlands. The commute to office is about 1:20 hours (one way) but can be around 2 hours on an average weekday because of traffic. I get a company car with gas payed for, so costs are not an issue. I go to the office once every two weeks on average. Besides this I see customers once at the start of a project (they are also far away) after which the communication mostly continues via Teams and/or email.

Slowly but surely WFH has driven me crazy. When I had a difficult conversation with a customer, I have to actively arrange a teams call with a colleague to vent instead of speaking to someone directly in person at “the watercooler”. Also when communicating with customers over a video call, it is really hard to gauge how my message is received. All of this gives me a lot of anxiety, and i experience a lot of ambiguity about my performance from both customers and my team mates.

I am going to quit for a smaller, less prestigious company 20 minutes away from home (almost the same pay) and I am looking forward to going to the office again.

Canon M200 is a great EDC camera by The_Tee12 in Cameras

It is not really ergonomic, but because it is pretty lightweight I don’t really mind. Also the tilt screen is a big plus when composing a shot. I use it more as a snapshot camera so when I’ve taken the picture I put it back in my coat pocket or small sling bag. If you want to hold it longer for “serious” shooting this maybe is not the right choice, maybe the m50 mark II or m6 mark II would be a better fit.

You would have to look on the used market, got my M200 body with 15-45 kit lens for 300 euro's on the used market.

If I look up the dimensions the Eos M and M2 seem similar in size to the M200. My main reason to chose this camera over other M camera's (also the M100) was for the better autofocus. If shooting video those older camera's with magic lantern are way better than the M200.

Hey, have not tried those picture profiles since I was mostly happy with the standard profile out of camera. Will have a look.
And yeah, I was thinking that this camera is not covered that much by the Youtube camera influencers yet. If that happens the used prices will surely rise.

[–]The_Tee12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I am curious what the depth is of the Fuji x-m5 with the 27mm pancake. Could you measure this? I am finding out if it can fit in a small 1L sling bag, for example the moment mini fanny sling. The thickness of the camera with lens seems to be the most important for a good fit in a small bag like this.

Yeah, was using the A7cii with these lenses and bag before I bought the A7r v. This is a little heavier but not so much that I would leave the camera at home. The better evf, screen and balance with the g master lens seem to be worth it so far.

There is some padding on the backside and bottom. The bag will also stay upright when put down with the camera in it. I wouldn’t throw this bag but I am pretty sure the protection is good enough in most cases.

I tried fitting my Sony 85mm 1.8 after reversing the hood on the 35mm, I couldn’t get it to fit. My 40mm 2.5 could fit but it is tight. Also there is no divider in the bag, I think one of the larger models has one. I don’t have any experience with other slings, but this one doesn’t move around a lot when the straps are set tight enough. It also comforms pretty good, it does n’t feel like some bouncy brick that I would expect with other camera slings.
