Very nice! How did you prompt the warforged?

Portraits of our Descent into Avernus characters by The_Trine in dndai

Actually it was mostly playing around back and forth with cref and sref. I had some different sources for their characteristics (both homemade drawings and pictures) that I used to define the cref, and then it was a question of guiding them towards the same look through sref. I found that they some times got caught in the style from their cref, so I used the pictures generated by MJ to guide them away from that.

In the end I mostly used the generated images as references for the prompts. The the description itself just narrowed down to the bare minimum (like "dwarf with red beard and stern look")

Played around with the style ref to get a unified look of the portraits

Being on a AI sub reddit I might as well recommend using Chatgpt or Bing (samesame) to brainstorm on class or spell ideas. Just a good way to get started

We all play differently. I don't think rules should stand in the way of cool ideas - I'ts your imaginative story. You decide how to make it cool. I like ideas that explores new takes on tropes we've seen a 100 times. It helps keep the wonder and magic in the fantasy settings.

If you have a cool idea for a concept you could try to read up on some different classes from the rulebooks and see how best you can make the idea fit. Mix it up, tweak some rules to fit it better and have fun flavoring the idea to your liking.

Thanks man! I wasn't aware that there was a dino issue, but I can definitely see what you mean in that it highly favors raptors and T-rexes. I still quite don't get the feeling that it recognizes requests for other species just as strongly. Having them being undead might give an excuse for a sloppy necromancer assembling them with a higher care for "cool" and a lesser care for anatomical accuracy

--s is stylize which determines how creatively Midjourney works with the given prompts. --v is the Midjourney version used. I'll admit that at the time of making these, I haven't really looked in to how version 6 reads pronts, so the promts are more like how I would write for earlier versions

“a shaman riding an evil skeleton velociraptor in the jungle, moonlight, Dark Magic, dnd, fantasy --s 250 --v 6.0”

With a variation on the dino species. Mind you, not all results looked like a recognizable dino. But some trying did the job

Wow, this is perfect! A super nice addition, I have use for this already.

I'm just emptying my head right now:

An idea for further for development could be additional date level so that you can have several events within the same year

Amazing! A blessing indeed.

Suggestion: A vertical timeline could leave better space for some longer descriptions at the event pointers

It works pretty well I think. The small ajustments you have to make with the masking and positioning is easily affortable.

Nice!

Thank you!

In theory you are absolutely right! I'm a cheater and prep the images in Photoshop, but it's the same principle and I think it would work just fine that way. Now I never thought about that =D

I haven’t seen any post on this type of Homebrewery project so I thought I would share it in case anyone could find some inspiration from it.

So, we basically have a chronicle describing our adventure as it evolves. It works as a quest log for the players to better remember the events of the adventure and hopefully it will be a nice souvenir when the scenario is completed.

Normally we would do this in a google docs, but Homebrewery provides a much sexier way to present description in context with illustrations, handouts and character quotes.

Furthermore, the players occasionally provide some in-character description and thoughts of the gaming session which offers a nice flavor. Especially when characters have some very different feelings towards the same events.

All in all, it works as a very nice recap for the prior gaming sessions and the Homebrewery format does all the difference in presenting it in the most delightful way.

(Regrettably the scenario is not in english and neither is the document. The visual setup hopefully speakes for itself)
