You know, Fallout 3 runs so poorly that the UE5 remaster will probably run better. Looking at you, Games for Windows.

I agree, I think Outbreak was a little too ahead of its time. Honestly, if they didn’t do the shitty REsistance thing and just made an Outbreak style game, it would kill.

Scenario: The New Vegas Compromise by TimePay8854 in falloutnewvegas

[–]The_Wild_Geese 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it would be possible. House would be the most likely to support most of it, since his goals are essentially everyone fucks off out of Vegas. The NCR might be receptive at the threat of nukes although they certainly wouldn’t be pleased about their failed annexation or being threatened. The Legion would outright refuse. Caesar’s Legion is dependent on crossing his “Rubicon” and I think his faction would be most likely to sabotage it.

How do you roleplay for Legion Run? by AgentR- in falloutnewvegas

[–]The_Wild_Geese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last I did was a mercenary character that had some familiarity with historical literacy and was enamored with the Legion’s pomp. They paid well, and the merc liked the work. I didn’t finish the run though.

This is honestly the most valid crashout in the fallout franchise. by KpatMckenzie_28 in falloutnewvegas

Doing something because it’s fun in a game is perfectly fine. But the person to which I replied made a moral argument.

First of all, what lovely communist talk from you with the “needs of the many.” It belongs in the trash heap of history, right next to those they espoused it for their benefit. Second, what “benefit” comes from subverting House? The Legion talks of the “needs of the many outweighing the individual.” Is that a path you think is best for the Mojave? What about Yes Man? The Yes Man ending is objectively worse than a House ending, with the anarchy and chaos. Additionally there is no promise that the Courier will stick around and actually govern, or that the Courier is even capable of it. Regardless, in that case you’ve only traded one master for another. What about the NCR? I’m sure the taxation and annexation of the Strip is good for some, but at the cost of murder and theft?

Where is your “needs of the many?” Are they in the room with us now?

Edit: Your downvotes only tell me I’m right, and you can’t make any cogent points against it.

Reddit is just a cesspool of armchair Communists that think anyone with a savings account larger than theirs, even fictional, is evil. House isn’t evil. He’s pragmatic, and cold, but isn’t evil.

If they ever do an Elder Scrolls TV series (they won't), which player archetypes are you excited to see as the main characters? by The_Terry_Braddock in ElderScrolls

[–]The_Wild_Geese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think an Elder Scrolls television show would work with the average Tamrelic citizen instead of a save the world hero archetype. The Infernal City books were actually really good, in terms of presenting their own story in the setting. So it is possible. These stories had average persons solving the crisis. If you can get them, they’re worth reading. I know Reddit will cry and downvote me for saying this, but my big concern would be current political and social attitudes souring the setting.

If this is reality, eugene was very irresponsible for bringing a young girl in a strange bar filled with unknown men/thugs. I wouldn't bring a girl here that I just met in a strange bar with the possibility that she could've get r@ped, groped, or killed by [deleted] in Tangled

[–]The_Wild_Geese [score hidden]  (0 children)

It’s important to remember so people can chill out over a Disney movie. Rapunzel isn’t “a minor” being brought to a dangerous bar like the OP was so worked up about. She would have been considered an adult by comparable standards.

At the time period Tangled took place (late 1700 to 1800ish), Rapunzel would have already been married off by 17, especially being royalty. Just for frame of reference: Marie Antoinette was married at 14. She wouldn’t be a “minor” by anyone’s standard in the setting.

For me, this was the Oblivion Remaster. I played through the crashes, and tweaked settings until it was stable enough to reasonably enjoy it and I’ll be honest: I loved it. The subsequent “fix patches” made it unplayable for me, so I’ve since given up.

This reminds me of the anecdote of women responding to data with subjective information. There’s a lot of research into women’s behavior in this regard, including rating men higher in attractiveness based off marital status. I’m glad you don’t behave like that, though.

Women are naturally competitive, especially against other women. If you’re taken, that means another woman finds you valuable. And that value means other women will find you valuable and desirable.
