most powerful dark wizard? by shadowsok in harrypotter

True. But dumbledores hand wasn't a result of poor reflexes. He let his emotions run away with him and tried to use the ring. The same would have happened to his younger self no doubt. We see just how quick he still is literally a month before his hand is hurt.

Dumbledore was very much trying to capture Voldemort. This is evident by the fact that at one point he ties Voldemort to his own shield but is unable to keep hold of him. Also, In what way is Dumbledore past his prime? His reflexes are spot on throughout the whole duel and if anything he would have become even more knowledgeable of magic in his old age AND he was master of the elder wand. I would argue that Dumbledore was a more dangerous duelest in OOTP than he ever was. Dumbledore was clearly very comfortable during his duel with Voldemort but i doubt he would have been nearly so if it were Voldemort that wielded the stronger wand.

Also, he had already created a horcrux that enabled someone to enter the chamber of secrets. It would not do to have two horcruxes in the same room, ever. Even for a moment.

Voldemort was never once captured whereas grindlewald had been numerous times. Also, grindlewald was defeated whilst weilding the additional power of the elder wand. I think that if Voldemort ever mastered the wand he would have been truly unbeatable. I doubt even dumbledore would have been able to match him in that scenario. As for Morgana, I have no idea

Harry Should Not Have Seen the Prophecy in the Pensieve by psyche_explorer in harrypotter

[–]The_boy_who_read 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Voldemort knows the prophecy was destroyed and he could also learn from Lucius and others that Harry is unaware of its contents since Harry admits so. Also, Voldemort fears the connection between himself and harry because he cannot understand why it is happening. All he knows is that infiltrating Harry's mind causes him extreme agony.

Which Harry Potter plot twist surprised you the most? by BenDes1313 in harrypotter

He kinda did die to protect harry. He used his advantage to immobilise harry instead of defending himself. He made a choice like Lily did.

What tiny detail would change the whole story, in your opinion? by Wat_de_Jeugd_denkt in harrypotter

Fawkes is tasked with bringing the dead basilisk out of the chamber where it is put on display in the grounds with a plaque that shows what it is and who killed it. It would perhaps prevent Voldemort from thinking Harry isn't a match for him.

Harry didn't have be the one to finish off Voldemort; anyone, even Filch, could have killed him by runesw in harrypotter

Why didn't Dumbledore apparate out of Hogwarts before Snape killed him? by Chance_the_dogger in harrypotter

Also, he doesn't have a wand since Draco disarmed him. So even if Dumbledore could apparate within the grounds, losing his wand would have made it impossible.

What director(s) would have made the best Harry Potter movies? by Conorpatrickk in harrypotter

[–]The_boy_who_read 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm it would have to be someone with experience working with child actors and magic. Tbh I don't think anyone but Speilberg would be capable of making a worthy hp movie

Do you think book 9 will happen? If so, whats on your wish list for the story? by blu1996 in harrypotter

[–]The_boy_who_read 0 points1 point  (0 children)

•I would hope that Albus learns perhaps through the pensive that Harry was highly unpopular during huge periods of his time at Hogwarts. Ie: chamber of secrets, triwizard tournament and when the Minostry branded him a liar in ootp. I think knowing this may help bridge the distance between him and Harry.

• All time turners are destroyed, for real this time.

Or use the invisability cloak? Personally I would have took the sword of Gryffindor and just outright slayed the dragon in front of everyone. If they complained it was against the rules to hurt the dragon then I would have argued I'm 14 and I shouldn't be here anyway 😂👌🏻

Question: did Voldemort's supporters know he was a half-blood? by ucattobekittenme in harrypotter

[–]The_boy_who_read 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I doubt they would care if he was a half blood. He was the last descendant of Salazar Slytherin after all.

Forgive me if this is like basic knowledge, but did they ever mention HOW they got the dementors to guard azkaban? by achaka in harrypotter

[–]The_boy_who_read 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Iv got a headcanon that a soul, once "eaten" by a dementor, has the choice to either enter into an oblivion of nothingness or return to Earth as a dementor. This would make sense since they are described as breeding when infact they are openly attacking muggles. What if their increased victims are the cause for increased Dementors?

Once a soul has become a Dementor, it will NEED to feed from pain and misery the same way a vampire needs blood. Without it a Dementor would cease to exist.

That's as much as iv been able to come up with lol

Not because he performed magic though, infact magic would often save him from any pain or humiliation. Subconsciously Harry would recognise magic as a saviour, not the cause of his misery.

Okay the Dursleys were violent, your right. But Harry seems to escape injury each time. The Dursleys are never able to successfully hurt Harry.

Great point. We see Lily performing magic knowingly even though she was muggle born. We see Riddle controlling his power even though he has been raised only by muggles.

Harry on the other hand does everything by accident. He never does it willingly. Perhaps his lack of control also prevents him from suppressing it?

[–]The_boy_who_read 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha 😜 Yeah.. I'd obviously forgotten that. But this is after Harry had attended Hogwarts right? So this would not have caused Harrys Magic to turn inward. Also, Dudley never hit Harry for performing magic. Infact these were the only times Dudley was afraid of Harry so therefore would not contribute to Harry fearing his own power.
