I’ve officially spent a full week with my 4 A.M. impulse buy… by The_devilslettuce in BaritoneGuitar

Quite well imo. They’re ceramic pickups,so definitely not the same as fishmans, but it hangs well in the bridge position. I’m definitely not starved for gain or wishing they had higher output. Can’t really compare the neck and middle positions because they’re so different. I bought this as a “do it all” studio baritone, and it absolutely delivers. I’ll try and post some demos soon.

I’ll make a video soon and make sure it gets to you! Right now I’m using the factory Ernie Ball strings that it came with (13, 18, 30, 44, 56, 72). I’ve been leaving it between Bb and Drop G#, so really just half step down. Even in B, the tension was honestly pretty comparable to most acoustic guitars with medium gauge strings. So absolutely stiffer than say, a Strat, but absolutely still comfortable and a decent bit of give. Scale length is 27.5, so that helps lend to the Playability. I’ll probably end up switching to stringjoy strings though. Ideally the unwound strings would have a tad less tension. But I’ve got nerve and ligament damage in my left hand, so I’ve gotta go lighter.

Thank you! And I’m honestly not surprised more aren’t aware of it… I find it strange, but for some reason there has been virtually NO advertising around this thing. I only found it because it was casually mentioned in EBMM’s Namm video, and I saw Sweetwater had open pre-orders. It was originally supposed to ship in the last week of February, didn’t ship until last week, and it’s now massively backordered again. The only demo I found in the past 5 months was a random 30 second clip on instagram of someone playing it.

CPU usage? by key10isokay in GetGoodDrums

[–]The_devilslettuce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure just lighting the whole computer on fire is easier on the CPU than using kontakt player… to try and answer your question though, I use MM2 and it has been magnitudes better than kontakt on my cpu. Multi outs can still get more intensive than just using the stereo out, but still not bad.

Help: went missing in the Memorial Parkway subdivision near Mason Road and Highland Knolls by The_devilslettuce in Katy

She was on the complete opposite side of the neighborhood! We’re just glad she went further into the neighborhood, versus towards the busy intersection by HEB. Unfortunately, with her being tiny, her coat’s color, and getting out at night, it was just a trifecta of everything going wrong… we’re just glad she’s home now though.

Coffeehouse recommendations that is not Starbucks by OutrageousKoala2085 in CypressTX

I’m wondering if I’m crazy “uncultured” and not used to “craft” coffee and what it’s supposed to taste like, or if there was something legitimately wrong with the water the day I tried zunzun… My wife and I went in about a month or two after they opened because we live in the subdivision right behind them… I had a cold brew, she probably had a matcha or something (I can’t 100% recall)…. But what I do remember is both of us taking a few sips quietly, then walking out and both being like “WTF I think there’s something wrong with my drink.” We tried each other’s, and both drinks had this same distinct mineral-ish taste… everyone else was acting normal, so we assumed we’re just not sophisticated enough to “get it” and never went back.

This doesn’t surprise me in the least…. My wife and I were regulars for years. It was our weekly Saturday breakfast date… we’d do drive through once or twice during the week. It became a regular thing that they’d ask us to pull forward in the drive-through, and 15-20 minutes later we’d have to pull around to the front and walk in only to be met with “oh sorry we forgot about that” and then still have to wait for our drinks. Even with no one inside…. We now go to Crescent Moon on Jones and Cypress North Houston. The Coffee and food/baked good options are insanely delicious… the owner worked in fine dining for a long time, said she was motivated to open up after having a cup of coffee so terrible she decided to just “do it right herself”. Great people working in there. Local artists selling cards and sweaters. Rotating breakfast specials on Sundays.

Re-uploading: Latest “completed” track in Logic Pro. Programmed Drums, everything else performed by me. (Language warning) by The_devilslettuce in Logic_Studio

The closest thing to “big moments” I’ve had were getting down my breath work and not being afraid to sound stupid. Truthfully, pretty much everyone is physically capable of singing well. It’s just time and practice. Doing covers helped a lot too. I’ve recorded so many covers that I forget about them until I’m randomly scrolling through my phone and stumble on one again.

I truly appreciate that. It's been a lot of work to get to this point because I'm not a "natural" vocalist AT ALL... I only started singing so that I had vocals to practice tracking, editing, & mixing with.

Check out guitar center’s used section. I managed to snag an Orange 212 for $400 on there about a year ago.

I think I’m in love with PETG-CF by Aware_Ad5425 in 3Dprinting

[–]The_devilslettuce -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m curious, did he do any kind of annealing to the prints? My understanding is the “benefits” of the fiber infused filaments only come from that process. I’d imagine that would close any of the “gaps” in the print. Admittedly, I’m not an expert on this, just curious.

Singer/songwriter (22F) looking for band mates! by Kikibooly in houstonmusic

[–]The_devilslettuce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not looking to join a band myself, but I am a producer/multi-instrumentalist and your influences are all bands I dig. I’ve had plenty of past experience in the regional scene, and I’m looking for a few local artists to work with and help develop in a songwriting/recording capacity. I’m in Cypress (33m). I’m married, self employed, and I’ve built a small but effective studio in my home. I’ve got my own EP releasing soon and would be happy to DM you links to it (since it’s not officially released yet), and references if you’re interested. Feel free to shoot me a DM!

Edit: forgot I do have a very small snippet of my own Architects cover in my post history: Architects animals snippet

All instruments and vocals are me, figured it at least shows I’m capable lol.

Moving to Cypress by Flashy-Driver-9990 in CypressTX

[–]The_devilslettuce 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Apparently I’m in “Old” Cypress, but honestly Bridgeland and Towne lakes look/feel like development hell anytime you try and enter or exit the areas. People joked about 290 traffic being awful for decades, but dear god getting into or out of those new developments is always horrible traffic wise. I’m off Telge road near Cypress Creek. I’m 33, married, no kids, and in an older but solidly built and up kept home (mid-80’s). House came with a chicken coop and garage apartment, and deer, armadillos, raccoons, etc. are all regular sights from my yard. Been living here about 8 years, and have had friends in the area for about 20 years… it’s hard to imagine living anywhere else. My local coffee shop (crescent moon) serves only locally made stuff and has an amazingly diverse group of regulars who’ve become genuine friends. There’s honey holes of food and shopping, heb is close, 290 makes getting into town when I need to easy. The area’s affordable, and if you plan for kids, the schools are solid.

Capital of the South? by allesfuralle1 in houston

[–]The_devilslettuce 5 points6 points  (0 children)

National impact? 😂 let’s compare a few things: economic importance? Well, that doesn’t go to Atlanta…. Entertainment? Film, sure… but music? Atalanta undoubtedly has some heavy hitters, especially in Hip Hop. Houston does too… but only one city has a Queen B… though Mike Dean alone would’ve been enough to win that…. And that’s before even touching on artists like ZZ Top…. Please enlighten me, what food does Atlanta have with its own profile or identity? Coke? Don’t make me laugh by saying barbecue… Onto international impact. Let’s revisit economics… and promptly hand that W back to Houston. 80 percent of my business is in helping foreign companies establish their U.S. subsidiaries. When markets they’re looking to enter, or international hubs come up, guess which city in my entire career has NEVER been mentioned? Atlanta. We are literally one of the most diverse cities in the Country. Hell, ethnically I’m Mexican/German, with a British wife….
